ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders have brought back linebacker Shilique Calhoun and seven other players released on cut-down day to their practice squad.

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders have signed six draft picks.
Oakland finalized deals Friday with fourth-round tackle David Sharpe, fifth-round linebacker Marquel Lee and all four seventh-rounders. Those picks are safety Shalom Luani, tackle Jylan Ware, running back Elijah Hood and defensive tackle Treyvon Hester.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina tailback Elijah Hood has changed his mind and will enter the NFL draft instead of returning for his senior season.
Hood announced he would return before the Sun Bowl loss to Stanford. But in a statement released by the school Friday, Hood said he made the "difficult" reversal after gathering additional information and consulting with his family.
In a statement, coach Larry Fedora said he supports Hood's decision.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina junior tailback Elijah Hood won't play in the Sun Bowl against Stanford due to medical reasons but will return to the team in 2017 instead of entering the NFL draft.
In a statement from the school, Hood said he was "disappointed I cannot be with my football brothers" for the bowl game as he stays in North Carolina to recover, but said he was eager to return to school for his season season.
The school didn't specify the nature of Hood's medical issues.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Elijah Hood is focused on finishing strong for No. 15 North Carolina.
The junior has two straight 100-yard rushing performances entering Thursday night's rivalry game at Duke, a sign he is healthy after missing a game due to an apparent concussion that had followed a slower-than-expected start to the season.
"It's good to see him running like the (No.) 34 we know," quarterback Mitch Trubisky said.
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Malik Carney hopped up and down in the middle of the North Carolina locker room, joyous teammates bouncing off him in the postgame celebration .
With good reason — since he thwarted any hope Miami had at a comeback.

The winner will still look good in the ACC's Coastal race, and the loser will need some help to get to the conference title game. It's that simple.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina coach Larry Fedora says he expects running back Elijah Hood to play this week at No. 16 Miami.
Fedora said Wednesday that Hood has practiced this week, has "done well and had no issues."
Hood leads the Tar Heels with an average of 67.6 yards rushing.
He missed last week's 34-3 loss to Virginia Tech with a concussion. Without him, the Tar Heels struggled in sloppy conditions on the ground, finishing with 73 yards rushing.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Mitch Trubisky threw for a career-high 432 yards and three touchdowns while setting two school records to help North Carolina beat James Madison 56-28 in Saturday's home opener.
Trubisky completed 24 of 27 passes, including a program single-game record of 18 straight before calling it a day early in the fourth. He also has thrown 156 consecutive passes without an interception, breaking a record that had stood since 1997.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina's season opener ended up being a repeat of last year's first game, down to letting a winnable game against a Southeastern Conference opponent slip away.
The No. 22 Tar Heels now will find out whether they can repeat last year's surge out of a crushing loss, too.
The Atlantic Coast Conference is home to maybe the best and most important player in college football this season.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Elijah Hood ran the ball with a tackler-punishing ferocity to put together one of the best statistical seasons in North Carolina history and make him one of the Atlantic Coast Conference's elite runners.
Yet Hood is thinking as much about all the little mistakes he saw on his game film, the ones he's determined to correct this fall to have an even bigger season.
"I know for a fact I could've done more," Hood said in an interview with The...
