TURIN, Italy (AP) — Juventus midfielder Emre Can has undergone successful surgery to have a thyroid nodule removed.
The lump was discovered after his return from international duty with Germany. Juventus says Can underwent surgery on Monday in Frankfurt.
The Italian club says the operation "was a complete success" and adds that "the prognosis for the resumption of physical activity will be better assessed in the coming days."
Germany calls up Emre Can after Havertz, Ruediger drop out
BERLIN (AP) — Germany coach Joachim Loew called up midfielder Emre Can for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games in the Netherlands and France after Kai Havertz and Antonio Ruediger dropped out on Monday.
Havertz has a bruised knee and needs to sit out training for the next few days, while Ruediger has groin problems, the German soccer federation said.
LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool has confirmed Germany midfielder Emre Can will leave the club with his contract about to expire.
The Reds announced the departure in a statement on Friday.
