Syracuse QB Eric Dungey likely to miss season finale
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey, who has missed the past two games with a lower-leg injury, likely will miss Saturday's season finale at home against Boston College.
Syracuse coach Dino Babers hinted Monday at his weekly press conference that Dungey probably would not play, even though he's listed as the starter on the depth chart.
Babers says he would bet that Dungey doesn't play and that "I think he'll be full-go by next year."
The quarterback is athletic, tough, gritty, knows how to win, has a strong arm and can make any throw he’s asked to make.
Which one — Wake Forest’s John Wolford or Syracuse’s Eric Dungey — does that description fit?
“Dungey is a winner, he’s a competitor, he’s gritty, he’s tough, he hangs in the pocket, he makes plays with his feet. He sticks the ball in tight spaces. He’s a really, really good player. He reminds me a lot of John,” Coach Dave Clawson of Wake Forest said.
