Sargent among 4 making US debuts against Bolivia
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — Forward Josh Sargent, goalkeeper Alex Bono, and defenders Erik Palmer-Brown and Antonee Robinson are set to make their United States debuts in an exhibition against Bolivia, and Christian Pulisic is back with the national team for the first time since the Americans were eliminated in World Cup qualifying last October.
Sargent, who turned 18 on Feb. 20, scored four goals at last year's Under-20 World Cup and three at the Under-17 World Cup.
CHICAGO (AP) — With no World Cup to prepare for, the United States announced a roster devoid of the veterans who failed to qualify for this year's tournament and filled with youth who could take the field 4½ years from now in Qatar.
Midfielder Julian Green returns to the U.S. national team for the first time in two years, joining star midfielder Christian Pulisic in the group picked for the May 28 exhibition against Bolivia at Chester, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia.
CHICAGO (AP) — Mexican league midfielder Kekuta Manneh was added to the U.S. roster Monday for a March 27 exhibition against Paraguay at Cary, North Carolina.
The 27-year-old was born in Ghana and became a U.S. citizen two years ago while playing with Vancouver. He was traded to Columbus in March 2017 and signed with Pachuca in December.
Dynamo wins 2-1 on Sporting KC’s own goal in 77nd minute
HOUSTON (AP) — Tomas Martinez scored in the 63rd minute and his free kick in the 77th led to an own goal, helping the Houston Dynamo beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Houston (12-10-10) moved within one point of a third-place tie with Portland and Seattle. Second-place Sporting KC (12-8-12) needed at least a draw to secure a playoff spot.
Only Vancouver, three points ahead of Sporting KC, has secured a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Sporting KC signs 15-year-old Busio to homegrown deal
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Sporting Kansas City has made it quite clear that age doesn't mean a whole lot these days.
The club that signed 16-year-old Erik Palmer-Brown a few years ago announced Friday it had agreed to a homegrown contract with Gianluca Busio, making the 15-year-old forward from North Carolina the youngest to sign with an MLS club since Freddy Adu joined D.C. United in 2004.
Adu, who became a U.S. national team staple, was 14 when he joined Major League Soccer.
CHICAGO (AP) — Philadelphia Union defender Auston Trusty has replaced Fulham's Marlon Fossey on the U.S. roster for the Under-20 World Cup.
The U.S. Soccer Federation said Wednesday that Fossey arrived at training camp with a groin injury.
The Americans open the tournament in South Korea against Ecuador on Monday, play Senegal three days later and Saudi Arabia on May 28.

CHICAGO (AP) — California goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, the son of fired U.S. national coach Jurgen Klinsmann, is among 20 players on the American roster for CONCACAF's Under-20 Championship.
Eleven players are from Major League Soccer teams, with the rest from clubs in England, Spain and Mexico, and from college.
