Specifically, Georgia's long lineage of great running backs.
"It was a very big deal to me. I've watched Georgia football for a long time and I've really loved all the Georgia backs," said Holyfield, son of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield . "It had a lot to do with my decision."

Former University of Minnesota wrestler Zach Sanders won a gold medal this week at Cerro Pelado, an open freestyle tournament, in Cuba.
Sanders is a Wabasha-Kellogg grad who was a four-time All-American for the Gophers. He is currently a volunteer assistant coach at Minnesota. Sanders finished the tournament with a 3-0 record. He took down opponents from Canada, United States and Cuba to win his weight class.
Sanders beat the No. 3, No. 1 and No. 8 seeds in the tournament to earn the gold medal.

Iowa man accused of biting off another man’s earlobe
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A Des Moines man faces an assault charge after authorities say he bit off another man's earlobe.
The Des Moines Register reports that 42-year-old George Thomas Chambers was arrested Sunday on an assault causing bodily injury charge. Police say Chambers bit off the man's ear during an Aug. 21 fight.

Ringside doctor from Stamford honored for boxing medicine
Stamford resident Dr. Michael Schwartz was honored by the Association of Ringside Physician’s gala for his work as chief ringside physician for Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos on July 22.
The award was presented by former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield and former light welterweight champion Micky Ward. Ward was the subject of “The Fighter,” a feature film starring Mark Wahlberg.

Before that, he spent 13 years as the voice of the New Jersey Nets, five seasons as TV play-by-play announcer for the Golden State Warriors and one season with the New Orleans Hornets.
Boxing Hall of Famer Lou Duva dies at 94, handled 19 champs
PATERSON, N.J. (AP) — Lou Duva, the Boxing Hall of Famer who handled the careers of 19 champions including heavyweight Evander Holyfield, died Wednesday. He was 94.
The colorful Duva died of natural causes at a hospital in Paterson, where he lived, his son said in a statement released by the family.

Heavyweight contender Alex Stewart dies at 52
Alex Stewart, a heavyweight contender who fought Mike Tyson and nearly beat George Foreman, has died. He was 52.
Stewart died last week after being rushed to a hospital in Mount Vernon, N.Y., said Mike Gilberg, a close friend of the former fighter. He had a blood clot in his lung, Gilberg said.
"One day he wasn't feeling good, the next this happened," Gilberg said.

Trump made Atlantic City the capital of boxing for a time. On July 27, 1988, Mike Tyson took just 91 seconds to dispatch Michael Spinks at Boardwalk Hall. Trump sponsored the fight, paying $11 million to bring the fight to the Boardwalk, outbidding Las Vegas and other cities that wanted it.
He told The Press of Atlantic City at the time, "It was an amazing event, probably the most amazing event Atlantic City has ever seen. The buzz around that fight was incredible."
