Fairfield University guard Ferron Flavors Jr., has announced that he is leaving the Stags program and will transfer to another school.
Flavors, who lives in Federal Way, Wash., made the announcement official on Tuesday through a twitter account, saying: “First, I would like to thank Coach Johnson and his staff for the opportunity to be a part of a great team and university. After much discussion and prayer with my family, I’ve decided it’s best for my career to transfer elsewhere.

Heading into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament, forward Jonathan Kasibabu said that Fairfield was on a mission, a mission to get Tyler Nelson a championship. And, after victories over Marist, Niagara and Quinnipiac, all that stood in the way of that mission coming to fruition was Iona.

Niagara pulls away in second half, beats Fairfield 95-83
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Kahlil Dukes scored 22 points, Marvin Prochet and Matt Scott each had double-doubles and Niagara pulled away in the second half to beat Fairfield 95-83 on Saturday.
Prochet and Scott had 19 points and 11 rebounds apiece, while Dukes added six boards and four assists. Keleaf Tate had 10 points for Niagara (17-10, 10-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Nelson, who made 7 of 8 free throws in overtime, has four games with at least 30 points this season. He moved into third on Fairfield's career scoring list with 1,888 points.

Milin’s double-double leads Fairfield over Loyola (MD) 64-52
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Matija Milin totaled 18 points to lead four players in double-figure scoring and grabbed 11 rebounds to power Fairfield to a 64-52 victory over Loyola (MD) on Tuesday night.
Loyola led 16-8 in the first half after Andre Walker's 3-pointer at the 9:35 mark, but the Stags (2-0) went on a 22-5 run that included back-to-back 3-pointers by Ferron Flavors Jr., to lead 30-21 at halftime.
FAIRFIELD — Bakary Camara hit a layup at the buzzer as the Bridgeport men’s basketball team edged Fairfield for an 88-86 victory in an exhibition game Friday night at Alumni Hall.
The Purple Knights trailed 45-35 at halftime, 45-35, but shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the second half, including 9-for-15 from three-point range, to get the win.
