Kaelon Harris and Hayden Brown scored 11 points apiece for The Citadel (3-2). Frankie Johnson added nine points and five steals, while Preston Parks finished with eight points, a career-high tying nine assists and four steals.

Late last season, coach Duggar Baucom's Citadel basketball team found a formula that seemed to work. The Bulldogs snapped a 11-game skid to win three of their final four games, including a victory over Western Carolina in the Southern Conference tournament.
Now in his third season at The Citadel, Baucom is hoping to put that formula to work for an entire season.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Frankie Johnson stole the ball with six seconds left and then the freshman made two free throws as The Citadel held off VMI 79-74 on Saturday.
VMI's top scorer, QJ Peterson pulled the Keydets to 73-71 with just under three minutes remaining but missed two jump shots in the final minute and had just grabbed a defensive rebound when Johnson stripped the ball away with six seconds left.
The Citadel's Duggar Baucom spent a sleepless night in his hotel room Sunday night. Four straight losses, capped by a lackluster effort in a 15-point loss at Furman on Saturday, will do that to a basketball coach.

A Preston Parks 3 for the Bulldogs tied the game at 91 with 1:14 left and forced the overtime period. The Citadel kept the pressure on, scoring nine of the first 11 points for a 100-93 lead.
Whitfield leads Campbell past The Citadel 97-91
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Shane Whitfield scored a career-high 29 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and Campbell slipped past The Citadel for a 97-91 win Sunday in the Holy City Hoops Classic.
Chris Clemons added 27 points and Cory Gensler had 12 for Campbell (5-4), which shot 60 percent. Whitfield's rebounding total also was a career best and the game marked his first double-double.
Sophomore guard Quayson Williams scored 26 points as The Citadel basketball team won its second straight game Tuesday night, taking a 117-90 victory over lower-division Truett-McConnell.
Freshman guard Frankie Johnson added 17 points and six assists for the 2-1 Bulldogs, who play their next three games on the road -- at Stetson, Iowa State and Arizona State.
It was the 200th career victory for Citadel coach Duggar Baucom.

Frankie Johnson was 7 of 9 from the floor for 17 points, Warren Sledge added 15 and Brian White chipped in 13 for The Citadel (2-1). Zane Jajdawi had nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
