Johansen gets shootout winner, Predators beat Devils 2-1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ryan Johansen hasn't been happy with his performance in shootouts, so he was thrilled one went in Saturday night.
Johansen got the winning goal in the sixth round of the shootout to lift the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
Johansen took a slow approach before slipping a quick wrist shot past Devils goalie Keith Kinkaid. Prior to that, Johansen had converted just one of nine shootout attempts in his time with Nashville.
Rinne sets mark for Finnish goalies, Predators top Blues 4-1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Pekka Rinne leads the Finns in wins.
Rinne made 28 saves to set an NHL record for victories by a goalie from Finland, and the Nashville Predators beat St. Louis 4-1 on Wednesday night in Craig Berube's first game as Blues coach.
Frederick Gaudreau, Filip Forsberg, Austin Watson and Ryan Ellis scored for Nashville, which has won three straight. Rinne earned his 320th career win, surpassing Miikka Kiprusoff for most by a Finnish-born goaltender.
