ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Corey Davis Jr. and the No. 12 Houston Cougars dominated at both ends of the court — again.
Davis scored 26 points on 8-for-13 shooting and Houston had another strong defensive effort to beat UCF 77-68 on Thursday night.
"If you just take a white picket fence and put it around the paint, that's how our defense is," Cougars coach Kelvin Sampson said. "They made some difficult shots tonight, but we didn't give up any easy shots."

Davis scores 17 points, No. 24 Houston beats Saint Louis
HOUSTON (AP) — Corey Davis Jr. broke out of a shooting slump to help Houston improve to 10-0.
Davis hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 29 seconds left and had 17 points in No. 24 Houston's 68-64 comeback victory over Saint Louis on Sunday.
Davis was 3 of 5 from 3-point range and hit all six of his free throws. He entered Sunday shooting 8 of 38 on 3-pointers over his last five games.
Robinson, Brooks rally No. 24 Houston past LSU, 82-76
HOUSTON (AP) — Galen Robinson Jr. heard the "LSU! LSU!" chants with Houston down 15 points in the second half.
"It really touched a nerve, so I was like, 'There's no way I'm quitting, no way we are losing this game.'" Robinson said. "That's the mindset that I had."
Robinson scored 18 points, Armoni Brooks added 13 — all in the second half — and No. 24 Houston overcame the big deficit to beat LSU 82-76 on Wednesday night.

HOUSTON (AP) — Galen Robinson Jr. matched his career high with 20 points and Armoni Brooks added 17 points and nine rebounds to propel Houston to a 79-56 victory over Lamar on Tuesday night.
Robinson, who shot 7 of 9 from the field, sank 2 of 4 from 3-point range and all four of his free throws. He added four assists and three rebounds. Nate Hinton had 12 points and five rebounds off the bench for the Cougars (7-0), who ran their home-court winning streak to 21.
Brooks leads Houston in 79-68 win over cross-town rival Rice
HOUSTON (AP) — Armoni Brooks scored 20 points, Corey Davis Jr. added 18 with six assists and Houston held off cross-town rival Rice 79-69 Wednesday night in the 81st meeting.
Nate Hinton and Galen Robinson Jr. scored 15 apiece for the Cougars (2-0), who scored 26 points off of fast breaks and shot 45 percent from the field. It was Brooks' second straight 20-point game.

Houston leads start to finish in 80-59 rout over Temple
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Corey Davis Jr. scored 20 points, Devin Davis had a double-double and Houston rolled to its fifth straight victory with an 80-59 win against Temple on Sunday.
Houston (21-5, 11-3 American) raced to a 15-0 lead with Davis making three 3-pointers and baskets from Breaon Brady, Rob Gray and Davis. Temple didn't score until 13:34 on a dunk by Obi Enechionyia. The Owls missed their first six shots and turned it over four times.
Gray scores 24 points, Houston beats Providence 70-59
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Rob Gray scored 24 points and Houston defeated Providence 70-59 on Wednesday night in the Hall of Fame Holiday Classic.
Gray provided the spark in a couple of offensive bursts in the second half, scoring eight straight points during a 13-6 run to start the second half that expanded an eight-point lead to 44-29. He later scored seven unanswered points to put the Cougars (10-2) ahead 56-35 with 12 minutes left.
Houston pulls away from Prairie View A&M for 92-72 victory
HOUSTON (AP) — Armoni Brooks scored a career-high 24 points, Corey Davis Jr. added 15 and Houston beat Prairie View A&M 92-72 on Sunday.
Houston led 44-39 at halftime before the Panthers went on a 10-4 run out of the break with Dennis Jones scoring half their points. The game stayed even until Brooks made three 3s in less than two minutes and the Cougars never trailed again.

Houston holds off Memphis 72-71
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Damyean Dotson scored 31 points, including five 3-pointers, Galen Robinson Jr. had a game-saving block and Houston got a 72-71 win over Memphis on Sunday that clinched a first-round bye for the Cougars in the American Athletic Conference tournament.

HOUSTON (AP) — Damyean Dotson scored a career-high 31 points to lead Houston as it rolled to 82-64 win over UCF on Wednesday night.
Dotson was 11 of 16 from the floor including seven 3-pointers for the Cougars (16-7, 7-4 American) who have won three straight. Rob Gray Jr. added 15 points and Galen Robinson Jr. had 14.
Lawson’s career night lifts Memphis over Houston 70-67 in OT
HOUSTON (AP) — KJ Lawson had career highs with 28 points and 16 rebounds, Dedric Lawson had 18 points and 10 boards and Memphis beat Houston 70-67 in overtime Thursday night.
Lawson made a pair of free throws 19 seconds into overtime and Memphis (14-5, 4-2 American Athletic) never trailed again. Houston shot 1 for 5 from the field, committed three turnovers and three fouls in the extra session.

HOUSTON (AP) — Rob Gray scored 30 points for his third straight game with 20-plus, Danrad Knowles added 25 points and Houston beat Rhode Island 82-77 on Saturday.
Houston (7-2) trailed 68-67 but the Cougars made six straight free throws for a 73-68 lead with 2:08 left. Kuran Iverson answered with an inside basket but he couldn't convert a 3-point play.
Houston overpowers George Mason in 93-56 win
ESTERO, Fla. (AP) — Rob Gray scored 23 points, Damyean Dotson added 16 more, including four 3-pointers, and Houston cruised to a 93-56 win over George Mason in the opening round of the Gulf Coast Showcase on Monday night.
Houston (2-0) hit 54 percent of its 65 shots from the field, including 13 of 22 from long range, and had six players reach double figures.
