Unsurprisingly, he also got the nod as the league's Offensive Player of the Year.

Washington State's star quarterback broke a school mark with seven touchdown passes and the No. 8 Cougars routed Arizona 69-28 on Saturday night to boost their longshot bid for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
"In high school I got six one time," Minshew said. "I never done seven. It was pretty crazy tonight."
Want drama? Then perhaps the game of the week is USC-UCLA
Here are some things to watch this week in the Pac-12 Conference:
Running backs play key role in Washington State’s Air Raid
While quarterback Gardner Minshew is getting most of the attention, running backs James Williams and Max Borghi have also helped fuel the rise of No. 8 Washington State this season.
Williams and Borghi play key roles in the complex Air Raid offense, which is mostly geared to passing.
In Saturday's 31-7 blowout of Colorado, the Cougars rushed a season-high 33 times for 131 yards. The two running backs added eight catches for 77 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns.
Minshew leads No. 10 Washington State past Colorado 31-7
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — The 10th-ranked Washington State Cougars weren't in any hurry to bury the Buffaloes.
Gardner Minshew II had all day to pick his targets and he overcame a slow start and three fourth-down failures to lead the Cougars past Colorado 31-7 on Saturday.
The Cougars (9-1, 6-1 Pac-12, No. 8 CFP) won their sixth straight, but it wasn't as easy as expected against the Buffaloes (5-5, 2-5), who lost their fifth straight despite the return of star receiver Laviska Shenault Jr.

Oregon visits Utah with implications for the Pac-12 South
Here are some things to watch in the Pac-12 Conference this week:
No. 10 Washington State beats California 19-13
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — California shut down No. 10 Washington State's vaunted Air Raid offense for most of Saturday's game, but the Bears could not quite close the deal.
Gardner Minshew threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Easop Winston Jr. with 32 seconds left to lift Washington State to a 19-13 win over California, extending WSU's long-shot quest to crash the College Football Playoff.
No. 14 Washington St. rallies past No. 24 Stanford 41-38
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — As soon as Stanford threw a tying touchdown pass, Gardner Minshew's first reaction was that the Cardinal left Washington State too much time with 1:25 to play.
With one deep pass over the middle and a clutch kick that proved to be true and the Cougars are now all alone in first place in the Pac-12 North.
No. 25 Washington State beats No. 12 Oregon 34-20
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — One of the biggest days in program history for Washington State started with a celebration outside the gates of Martin Stadium and ended with fans partying on the field.
Gardner Minshew threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Dezmon Patmon in the back of the end zone with 3:40 left and No. 25 Washington State beat No. 12 Oregon 34-20 on Saturday night.
No. 25 Washington St hosts No. 12 Oregon in key Pac-12 game
No. 25 Washington State hosting No. 12 Oregon has more significance than many may have expected early in the season.

No. 12 Oregon at No. 25 Washington St tops Pac-12 slate
Here are some things to watch in Week 8 of the Pac-12 Conference football season:
STAT WATCH: Alabama hits midway point atop offensive charts
Alabama leads two of the four major offensive categories, Darrell Henderson of Memphis has overtaken Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor in rushing and Washington State's Gardner Minshew is the only quarterback averaging more than 400 yards pass per game as the college football season enters its second half.
The Crimson Tide have scored 50-plus points in five of their seven games and lead the nation with 53.6 per game. They also are averaging a nation-high 567 yards per game.
Minshew II, Washington St. beats Oregon State 56-37
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — When Washington State fell behind on Saturday, the Cougars' offense responded, and that's part of the team's mindset, said quarterback Gardner Minshew II.
"Any time our backs are to the wall, we're going to come out swinging," Minshew added.
Minshew threw for 430 yards and five touchdowns as Washington State scored 28 straight second half points to beat Oregon State 56-37 on Saturday night.
Oregon St expects Cougars to turn to run more
Facing pass-happy Washington State on Saturday means Oregon State's harried run defense might get a break.
But the Beavers will still have to deal with Gardner Minshew.
The Cougars (4-1, 1-1 Pac-12) rushed for no net yards — that's zero — last week against Utah. Instead, Mike Leach's team relied on Minshew's arm.
Pac-12 Commissioner seeks to clarify targeting comments
Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott is clarifying comments he made about the controversial non-call for targeting late in last Friday's game between Washington State and USC.
USC's Porter Gustin made helmet-to-helmet contact with Cougars quarterback Gardner Minshew at a critical juncture of the game. The Trojans won, 39-36.
Game of the Week? Look no further than Stanford at Oregon
Here are some things to watch in Week 4 of the Pac-12 Conference football season:
Washington State’s Minshew is a QB to watch in the Pac-12
At the beginning of the season, Washington State coach Mike Leach played coy with the media — as he often does — over his choice for starting quarterback.
The Cougars had four candidates and Leach wryly said it would be a "thrill a minute" to discover which one would emerge.
Minshew leads Washington St. over E. Washington 59-24
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Graduate transfer quarterback Gardner Minshew didn't start playing with his Washington State teammates until fall drills, but you wouldn't know it from his production.
Minshew threw for 470 yards and two touchdowns as Washington State beat Eastern Washington 59-24 on Saturday night to avenge a 2016 loss to its FCS neighbor.
"We have a bunch of new receivers and a new quarterback," Washington State coach Mike Leach said. "All of it is tuning into one another."
Minshew leads Washington State over San Jose State 31-0
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Washington State beat San Jose State 31-0 on Saturday night, but that doesn't mean Cougars' coach Mike Leach was happy with his team.
"I was not impressed with our second half," Leach said, after the Cougars managed just one touchdown after halftime.
"We were too soft," Leach said, especially at running back. "We could get a fast seventh grader and hit the hole as hard as we did."
Washington State gains opening-season 41-19 win at Wyoming
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Washington State's starting quarterback wasn't publicly known until the offense took the field Saturday against Wyoming.
But graduate transfer Gardner Minshew knew he was the starter and responded by throwing for 319 yards and three touchdowns as the Cougars gained a 41-19 season-opening win over the Cowboys.
Minshew, who transferred from East Carolina, completed 38 of 57 attempts.
Washington State QB depth chart does not reveal starter
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Washington State's depth chart for Saturday's season opener at Wyoming provides little clarity about who will start at quarterback.
The depth chart lists four quarterbacks, and indicates any of the four could start.
Coach Mike Leach said last week that he would name a starter whenever he felt like it, and perhaps not before game time.
The Cougars are seeking to replace four-year starter Luke Falk.
Washington St adds graduate transfer quarterback
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Washington State has added a graduate transfer out of East Carolina who will compete for the job to replace departed recording-setting QB Luke Falk.
Gardner Minshew threw for 2,140 yards and 16 touchdowns last season at East Carolina. He appeared in 10 games for the Pirates last season, starting five.
ECU: QB Minshew withdraws from school due to family matter
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — East Carolina starting quarterback Gardner Minshew has withdrawn from school to deal with a family matter in his home state of Mississippi.
The school announced Minshew's decision in a news release Tuesday. Minshew earned a communication degree after the fall semester and coach Scottie Montgomery had designated him as the No. 1 QB entering the upcoming spring practices.
Montgomery said "the door will certainly remain open" for Minshew to possibly return.
