DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Stefan Gonzalez had 16 points to lead six UC Davis players in double figures as the Aggies narrowly defeated Long Beach State 77-73 on Saturday night. Rogers Printup added 14 points for the Aggies. Garrison Goode chipped in 12, Joe Mooney scored 11 and AJ John had 10.
Deishuan Booker had 20 points for the 49ers (9-18, 3-8 Big West Conference). Jordan Roberts added 19 points. Mason Riggins had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Leonard scores 22; UC Irvine beats UC Davis 71-69 in OT
IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Evan Leonard scored five of his 22 points in the final 1:42 and Max Hazzard finished with 15 points to help UC Irvine beat UC Davis 71-69 in overtime Thursday night in the Big West Conference opener for both teams.
Tommy Rutherford fouled out with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes for UCI (13-4).

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — TJ Shorts II and Matt Neufeld each scored 17 points and UC Davis overcame a spirted fight from NAIA-member William Jessup for an 83-65 win on Sunday.
Garrison Goode's layup made it 13-8 in favor of UC Davis before the Warriors used a 17-4 run and led 25-17 on Tyras Rattler Jr.'s 3-pointer with 9:42 before halftime. William Jessup led 38-31 at the break and was aided by 14-of-15 shooting from the foul line and a 25-16 rebounding advantage.
San Francisco opens with road romp over UC Davis
DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Charles Minlend scored 16 points and Matt McCarthy chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds as San Francisco opened its season with a 76-42 road win over UC Davis on Tuesday night.
Minlend buried 7 of his 11 shots from the floor as the Dons shot 52.5 percent (32 of 61) for the game, including 59 percent (20 of 34) in opening up a 46-26 halftime lead. Jordan Ratinho scored 14 and Frankie Ferrari pitched in with seven assists.
Krystkowiak gets tossed, Utah beat UC Davis 69-59 in NIT
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Justin Bibbins scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half, Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak was ejected in the first half and the Utes overcame an 11-point deficit to beat UC Davis 69-59 on Wednesday night in the first round of the NIT.
After being tossed from the game late in the first half for arguing a foul, Krystkowiak pushed over a seat on the bench and tossed a stool while walking through the exit tunnel.
UC Davis beats UC Irvine in 2OT, win Big West title
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — TJ Shorts II scored 21 points with seven rebounds, five assists and three steals and AJ John added a career-high 20 points — including six 3-pointers — and nine rebounds to help UC Davis slip past UC Irvine 90-84 in double overtime on Saturday night to win the Big West Conference regular-season title.
Shorts takes over late to send UC Davis past Lamar 77-68
LAS VEGAS (AP) — TJ Shorts II knocked down all 13 of his free throws and scored a career-high 25 to power UC Davis to a 77-68 victory over Lamar in a first-round game at the Las Vegas Classic on Friday.
Shorts took over in the final 5:32, scoring 13 of the final 20 points for the Aggies (8-4). Siler Schneider added 11 points, A.J. John scored 10 and UC Davis turned 17 Lamar turnovers into 30 points. The Aggies snapped a two-game skid, while Lamar dropped its third straight.
Nowell, Dickerson pace Washington past UC Davis, 77-70
SEATTLE (AP) — Washington's zone defense changed the tone at the start of the second half and freshman Jaylen Nowell took care of the offense down the stretch.
Nowell scored 11 of his 21 points in the final six minutes and Noah Dickerson added 18 points and 11 rebounds as Washington held off UC Davis 77-70 on Sunday night.
UC Davis downs Holy Names 89-75 behind Moneke
DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Chima Moneke scored 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting and UC Davis pulled away early from Holy Names to win 89-75 in Thursday night's home opener.
Lawrence White and Darius Graham scored 15 points apiece and Garrison Goode grabbed 12 rebounds for the Aggies (3-1), who shot 52 percent (31 of 60) from the floor and made 20 of 31 free throws (65 percent).
