School bus aide fired for threatening 10-year-old
LINDEN, N.J. (AP) — Officials have fired a New Jersey school bus aide who was captured on video using profanities and threatening a 10-year-old boy.
District spokesperson Gary Miller says the confrontation happened Monday as the bus was dropping off children from Linden Public School No. 2.
In the video filmed by another student on the bus, the female aide told the boy that she would put his head "through the window." Police say there was also a brief physical altercation.
Police: Rape suspect used elaborate plan, ‘anonymous’ letter
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say a Springfield man used an elaborate plan and an "anonymous" letter to sexually assault a woman.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that 41-year-old Gary Miller was charged Tuesday with rape and sodomy. Bond is set at $50,000. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
South Carolina man killed while driving riding mower
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a man was killed when the riding lawn mower he was on was hit by a car.
Lance Cpl. Gary Miller told news outlets said a car was traveling east on Belton Honea Path Highway 6 a.m. around Sunday when it hit a riding mower stopped in the eastbound lane.
Miller said the driver and passenger in the car were injured and taken to the hospital.
CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a head-on crash on a South Carolina road has killed two people and five others, including four children.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol tells local news outlets that the crash occurred late Saturday night on U.S. 76 near Clinton in Laurens County.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A lawyer working for a trust is claiming a $457 million Powerball ticket sold at a Pennsylvania convenience store, leaving state lottery officials with no details about the person or people who will get the money.
A lottery spokesman said Monday the agency had no information on whether the ticket sold at a Speedway in Manheim on March 17 was won by one person or will be split among multiple people.

GREAT FALLS, S.C. (AP) — One man has died after an ambulance crashed into a car in South Carolina.
Local media reported the wreck happened Wednesday afternoon on state Highway 97 between Chester and Great Falls.

South Carolina man charged in weekend hit-and-run death
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina man has been arrested in a weekend hit-and-run wreck that killed a woman.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Gary Miller told local reporters that 45-year-old Andrew Grant Whetstone II of Greer has been charged with leaving the scene of a wreck with death, traveling left of the center lane and possession of a stolen vehicle.

PIEDMONT, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man lying on a highway after a New Year's gathering was killed in an early morning hit-and-run in South Carolina.
Area news outlets report the Anderson County deputy coroner identified the man as 21-year-old Cody Tolar of Pelzer.
Lance Cpl. Gary Miller with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says Tolar was lying on Highway 86 shortly before 1 a.m. Monday when he was struck by a pickup truck that left the scene.
