ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Jason Carter scored all 16 points in the second half and Gavin Block 13 of his 15 to rally Ohio to a 78-74 victory over Ball State on Saturday.

Carter missed both of his first-half shots but scored the Bobcats' first 10 points of the second half and added another bucket in the 15-4 run that erased Ball State's 37-30 halftime lead.

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Gavin Block scored 16 points with five 3-pointers as Ohio beat Western Michigan 81-76 on Tuesday night.

Jason Carter had 14 points and seven rebounds for Ohio (10-8, 2-4 Mid-American Conference). James Gollon added 13 points, Teyvion Kirk 11 and freshman Jason Preston had a career-high nine assists. The Bobcats used 22 assists on 28 field goals.

Ohio trailed by as many as 14 points early in the game.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Luke Knapke scored all 16 of his points in the first half and Toledo cruised after the break for a 75-52 win over Ohio on Friday night.

The Rockets (15-3, 3-2 Mid-American Conference) scored the opening basket eight seconds in and led the entire way. Toledo jumped to a 30-7 advantage shortly after the midpoint of the first half and led by double digits for over 34 minutes to win its third straight.

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Jason Carter matched his career-high with 25 points and added 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals, leading Ohio to a 101-84 win over Marshall on Saturday.

Gavin Block, who was 6 of 7 from 3-point range, and freshman Ben Vander Plas added 18 points apiece off the bench for the Bobcats (5-2). Teyvion Kirk had 17.

Jon Elmore had 26 points and C.J. Burks 22 for the Thundering Herd (5-2).

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Jason Carter scored 25 points with 10 rebounds and Teyvion Kirk had 24 points and 10 boards and Ohio beat Austin Peay 85-82 in overtime on Saturday.

The Bobcats trailed 82-77 with 1:46 left in overtime when Austin Peay stalled, allowing two free throws each by Kirk and Gavin Block and a layup by Carter to give Ohio (2-2) the lead for good.

Block finished with 11 points and Antonio Cowart Jr. had 10 points with six rebounds.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Thomas Wilder scored 19 points and Western Michigan defeated Ohio 69-60 on Saturday.

Reggie Jones added 13 points and Brandon Johnson 10 for the Broncos (15-10, 7-5 Mid-American Conference), who made only 13 of 21 free throws but were enough to help beat the Bobcats, who were 5 of 9. Western Michigan has won four of its last five games.

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Jordan Dartis scored 26 of his career-high 38 points in the first half as Ohio sprinted to an early lead and coasted to a 99-75 win over Akron to halt a four-game skid in Mid-American Conference action on Tuesday night.

Dartis also hit a career-best 10 of 15 from long range, making 13 of 20 from the field. Gavin Block added 14 points and Teyvion Kirk scored 13 with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals for Ohio (10-13, 3-8). Doug Taylor had five blocks.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Jimond Ivey scored 11 of his 17 points in the final six minutes and Akron held off Ohio 71-68 on Tuesday night.

Ivey added six rebounds and four assists on an emotional night for the Zips, who ditched the traditional white home jerseys and wore purple in honor of pancreatic cancer awareness. The players all sported Peters on the backs of their jerseys in honor of Dan Peters, the Zips' director of basketball operations who succumbed to the disease in 2014.

James Gollon added a career-best 17 points for Ohio (6-5), which shot 25 of 55 from the field and made 10 3-pointers. Kevin Mickle, Gavin Block, and Teyvion Kirk each had 14 points. Kirk finished with a career-high seven assists.

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Treyvion Kirk scored 16 points in his debut with Ohio, leading the Bobcats to a 61-53 victory over Alabama A&M in the season opener Saturday.

The true freshman hit 6 of 11 from the field and was 4 of 6 from the free throw line while grabbing four rebounds and dishing a pair of assists.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Kwan Cheatham Jr. scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for his third double-double this season and four starters reached double digits as Akron raced past Ohio 83-68 on Tuesday night, pushing its win streak to eight games.

Kenny Kaminski was perfect from long range, hitting all five attempts for 17 points and Jordan Dartis hit 4 of 9 from distance to also total 17 points. The Bobcats (2-0) made 15 of 27 from beyond the arc, shooting 52.5 percent from the floor.
