New Zealand man shot in bid to meet Virginia teen indicted
GOOCHLAND, Va. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted a New Zealand man who authorities say was shot while trying to break into a Virginia girl's home.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports the grand jury on Wednesday indicted 25-year-old Troy George Skinner on four counts of production of child pornography, kidnapping and attempted kidnapping.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Ibra Kamulegeya impressed his tutor with how quickly he is mastering pre-algebra math.
Ibra and the tutor are seated on a rug on the floor in the Benedictine Abbey in Goochland County where Ibra and his caretaker, Hellen Ainembabazi, are staying.
Ibra and Ainembabazi came to the United States in May from a rural village in Uganda so that Ibra could get medical care for his right foot, which is disfigured by what initially was thought to be a lingering fungal infection.
Deputy charged with assaulting family member, rape
POWHATAN, Va. (AP) — A Virginia sheriff's deputy has been accused of assaulting a family member and rape.
News outlets report that Powhatan County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of domestic dispute early Monday and after an investigation, officials say a Goochland County Sheriff's deputy was charged with assault and battery of a family member and rape. He's being held without bond and it's not immediately clear if he has an attorney.
Officials: New Zealand man charged in bid to meet teen
GOOCHLAND, Va. (AP) — Federal officials have charged a New Zealand man who authorities say was shot while trying to break into a Virginia home after having online contact with a 14-year-old girl.
Troy George Skinner was charged in a criminal complaint last week with coercion and enticement, and production of child pornography.
Authorities have said Skinner was shot by the teen's mother after arriving uninvited in June and smashing a glass door to try to get inside.
Virginia woman indicted in crash that killed 3

Police said 24-year-old Rios pulled over near Goochland, which is outside Richmond. The 40-year-old Woodward got out of the car.
Arthur J. Pace Sr., a business owner and retired chef, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was 89.
He was born on June 7, 1928 in Goochland, Va. He was the eldest son of the late Tommie and Virginia Pace. He was one of 12 children who grew up on the family farm.

Dale-Marie McFadden, a jewelry designer and retired employee of the Goochland Women’s Correctional Center, died on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017. She was 61.
She was born on March 1, 1956, to Ernest and Gussie King McFadden in Philadelphia. Born a twin, she grew up in a family of nine siblings.
Raised in the family church, McFadden was baptized at age 12 and became a member of Friendly Baptist Church. She was a true believer in Christ. She loved praising the Lord and reading his word.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Joshua Alburger grew up in a large, supportive family in Goochland, Virginia, says his sister, Marcie Allen. "We were nurtured, loved, respected and made to feel safe."
Their parents had five children of their own while raising an additional five, Allen said. She said that later in life, Alburger developed a mental illness and struggled with suicidal thoughts. In 2013, at age 32, he died by suicide, leaving behind a wife of 10 years and three children.
