Models, politicians remember late designer Alaia in Tunisia
SIDI BOU SAID, Tunisia (AP) — Models, government ministers, relatives and friends have attended the funeral in Tunisia of fashion designer Azzedine Alaia, a native of the North African country who won international acclaim.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell, who enjoyed a close relationship with Alaia, appeared overwhelmed with emotion during the burial ceremony Monday in Sidi Bou Said, a picturesque village outside the capital, Tunis.

PARIS (AP) — Tunisian-born designer Azzedine Alaia, a fashion iconoclast whose clingy styles helped define the 1980s and who dressed famous women from Hollywood to the White House, has died.
The French Haute Couture Federation announced Alaia's death on Saturday without providing details. Twitter tributes to his influence on fashion poured in from around the world.
NEW YORK (AP) — Costume jewelry designer Kenneth Jay Lane, whose creations caught the fancy of high society and the QVC crowd alike, has died in New York. He was 85.
The executive vice president of Lane's company, Chris Sheppard, says Lane died at his Manhattan home early Thursday or late Wednesday. The cause was not given.
Niece, heiress to Greta Garbo fortune dies at 85
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Gray Gustafson Reisfield, the sole heiress to her aunt Greta Garbo's estate and a woman who was a long-time companion to the late Swedish-born actress, has died, a family member said Monday.
Reisfield died Sunday at her home in Marin County, California, following a bout with pneumonia, said her son Derek Reisfield. She was 85.
