Former Turner Field gets another crack at baseball _ sort of
ATLANTA (AP) — Hank Azaria attended a baseball game at Turner Field a few seasons ago.
He can't believe what it's become.
"I don't even recognize it," Azaria said incredulously, glancing out on the former ballpark now known as Georgia State Stadium.
NEW YORK (AP) — Hank Azaria is ready to stop voicing Kwik-E-Mart owner Apu on "The Simpsons" in the wake of criticism that it's a stereotype.
Azaria said on Tuesday's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" that he hopes the Fox animated show makes a change, and he's willing to step aside if necessary.
Azaria said: "I'm perfectly willing and happy to step aside or help transition it into something new. I really hope that's what 'The Simpsons' does."
Archer, the animated series that takes more cues from film noir than The Simpsons, is setting its ninth season on Danger Island, where our hard-boiled hero tries to avoid killing the staff and guests at a Key Largo-ish resort. The action and deadpan humor are fast and furious in what continues to be the very best of adults-only cartoons.
"The Simpsons" isn't going to apologize for offending anyone even its most liberal fans, and conservative critics and comics say that's a good thing.
"The No. 1 thing to do is do whatever is the funniest thing," comedian Boris Khaykin said, adding that context matters. "If it's so offensive it's distracting ... people can't even focus on what's funny."

‘The Simpsons’ will keep d’oh-ing it for another 2 seasons
NEW YORK (AP) — A cartoon family of world-class underachievers is set to burst an enduring TV record.
The Fox network has ordered the 29th and 30th seasons of "The Simpsons," carrying it through the 2018-19 season. This takes the animated series to 669 episodes, breaking the previous record for a scripted series set four decades ago with the Western "Gunsmoke," which produced 635.
