Snedeker follows 59 with 67, takes 2-shot lead at Wyndham
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Brandt Snedeker couldn't block out the buzz that surrounded his first-round 11-under 59 at the Wyndham Championship. He refocused just in time to reclaim the lead.
Snedeker followed his historic opening score with a 67 on Friday to take a two-stroke lead into the weekend at the Wyndham Championship.
A day after becoming the 10th player in PGA Tour history to break 60, Snedeker moved to 14-under 126 halfway through the final PGA Tour event before the playoffs.
Steve Stricker, Sean O’Hair take QBE Shootout lead
NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Steve Stricker and Sean O'Hair shot a 15-under 57 in scramble play Friday to take the first-round lead in the QBE Shootout.
The 50-year-old Stricker, the winning U.S. Presidents Cup captain in October, chipped in for birdie on the par-4 18th. They also eagled the par-5 17th in gusty conditions on Tiburon's Gold Course.

Not Steve Stricker, who made it into the field the hard way by earning a spot in the field in a 36-hole qualifier Monday at Memphis.
Stricker shot a 4-under 67 in the morning round at Ridgway Country Club and a 6-under 65 in the afternoon at Germantown Country Club to get a share of first place and earn a spot in the 156-player field at Erin Hills, assuring that there will be at least one Wisconsin player in the state’s first U.S. Open.
Harris English, Matt Kuchar win Shootout
NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Harris English and Matt Kuchar won the Franklin Templeton Shootout on Saturday, holding off Wisconsin friends Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly by a stroke at Tiburon.
English and Kuchar also won in 2013 in their first start together and finished second the last two years.

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Harris English and Matt Kuchar shot a 6-under 66 in windy modified alternate shot play Friday to take the second-round lead in the Franklin Templeton Shootout.
English and Kuchar were at 21 under at Tiburon after opening with a 57 on Thursday in the scramble round. They won in 2013 in their first start together and finished second the last two years.

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Steve Stricker returned from a long layoff to team with Jerry Kelly to take the first-round lead in the Franklin Templeton Shootout.
The Madison, Wisconsin, duo shot a 16-under 56 on Thursday in the scramble format for a one-stroke lead over Harris English and Matt Kuchar at Tiburon Golf Club.
