Idaho transportation workers find 2 explosives under bridge
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho transportation officials say bridge inspectors found two undetonated explosive devices underwater at the base of a bridge that spans the Snake River near Nampa. Both devices were removed and destroyed by military experts, and a sweep of the area did not turn up any additional explosives.
It wasn't immediately clear how the explosives got there or how long they had been there.

During the weekend, ITD’s driver’s license vendor, Gemalto, added additional server capacity in an effort to resolve the computer issues.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Officials with the Idaho Transportation Department say the state has saved $13.1 million in interest costs after refinancing bonds designates to improve the state's aging highways.
ITD announced Thursday it worked with the Idaho Housing and Finance Association to refinance $101 million of debt by reducing interest rates from 4.5 percent to 2.3 percent.

Maintenance work begins at three bridges in Pocatello, American Falls
POCATELLO – Intermittent lane restrictions will begin at the Pocatello Creek Interchange on Interstate 15 and two bridges on Interstate 86 in American Falls. The Idaho Transportation Department is maintaining and resurfacing the bridge decks.
In Pocatello, one lane will be open in both directions on I-15 over the Pocatello Creek Interchange (Exit 71). Lane restrictions will change from day to day based on the work location. Work in Pocatello is expected to last one week.

Idaho, tragically, could be on track to reaching a record number of motorist fatalities this summer.
Idaho Transportation Department officials said late last week that there had been 56 fatalities reported so far during the 100 Deadliest Days — the dangerous driving period between Memorial Day and Labor Day. But that alarming number had already gone up to 62 by Tuesday.
That works out to more than a death for each day since Memorial Day.
Interstate 15 to close intermittently for Blue Angels air show in Idaho Falls

POCATELLO — Bannock County’s top official announced Thursday that the much-anticipated Siphon Road-Interstate 15 interchange project will be delayed until next year if approved by the state.
“This fall you would have been driving on the new interchange,” Bannock County Commission Chairman Evan Frasure told the audience at a Rotary Club luncheon at the Clarion Inn. “But instead of driving it this October, it will be next October.”
Bridge ramps on Interstate 90 in the Silver Valley are undergoing repair work this year, which is causing a number of ramp closures.
Eastbound off ramps were closed for the work last week at Kellogg and Silverton.
The closures will last about two months and then be followed by closures of the westbound on ramps.
The state has hired a contractor to fix 12 bridge locations. Some minor pavement repair is also part of the job.
