Deputy Chief Carrie Jacobs says a woman reported the assault to campus police Thursday evening but further details were not immediately available.
Jacobs says the woman is not a student and it's unclear if she was assaulted on or off campus. Authorities were notified of the case while she was at a hospital.

NEVADA, Iowa (AP) — A former Iowa State University lecturer arrested last year for public intoxication during class has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.
The Des Moines Register reports that 56-year-old Gordon Branch Knight has pleaded guilty to first-offense public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.
Knight had been charged with second-offense public intoxication, a serious misdemeanor with penalties of up to a year in jail.

KENT, Ohio - Kent State University has named Christina Bloebaum, an aerospace engineer, as dean of the College of Aeronautics and Engineering.
Bloebaum currently serves as interim department chair of aerospace engineering and a professor of aerospace engineering at Iowa State University.
She will join Kent State on Aug. 1. She will be paid $270,000 a year.
No serious injuries in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ bus crash
AMES, Iowa (AP) — Officials say a bus carrying the touring cast and crew of "Dancing with the Stars" was involved in a large pileup during a snow storm in central Iowa, but no one on the bus was seriously hurt.
Iowa State University says the Monday crash resulted in the cancellation of "Dancing with the Stars: Live! Light Up The Night" on the campus in Ames. The university says some people on the bus suffered minor injuries.

The testing was recently conducted at parks in Ames by Iowa State University and the University Hygienic Lab.
While there is a lag time between collecting the samples and the testing, the results suggest mosquitoes with the potential to carry the virus are likely still present in the community. ISU entomologist Ryan Smith says late summer is the peak season for transmission of the virus.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — The interim president of Iowa State University has proposed increasing resident undergraduate tuition 7 percent every year for the next five years.
President Ben Allen told an Iowa Board of Regents task force Wednesday that the university's enrollment has risen by 37 percent since 2009, but that state appropriations for operations have declined by 30 percent. That means the university received nearly $4,000 less in state support for every resident student than in 2009.
