RICHARDSON, Texas (AP) — A Dallas-area church recently distributed flyers advertising a series of weekly seminars it plans to host condemning "dangerous isms" like Judaism, Islamism and liberalism.
Greenville Avenue Church of Christ in Richardson says in the flyers that the Wednesday seminars, being held through August, will "provide a proper response for the Christian."
French far-right militants convicted in mosque occupation
PARIS (AP) — The French far-right group Generation Identity and five of its members were convicted Thursday of organizing and taking part in a 2012 anti-Muslim demonstration on the roof of a mosque in the city of Poitiers, near where Arab invaders were stopped in the 8th century.
In an especially strong response to the protest, the court handed down suspended prison sentences for each of the five and imposed fines and other penalties amounting to nearly 40,000 euros (nearly $47,200.)

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Hamas-run police in Gaza say gunmen killed a Palestinian activist known for supporting Shiite Islamism.
They say Mithqal al-Salmi, 35, was killed Wednesday near his home, and that they are investigating.
The Sunni Islamic militant group Hamas, which rules Gaza, has tense relations with Shiite Iran and the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah stemming from the conflict in Syria.
