NEW YORK (AP) — Marcus Weathers had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead five Duquesne players in double figures as the Dukes beat Fordham 74-66 on Saturday. Sincere Carry added 14 points for the Dukes. Eric Williams Jr. chipped in 12, Michael Hughes scored 11 and Tavian Dunn-Martin had 10. Hughes also had 12 rebounds for the Dukes.
Nick Honor had 18 points for the Rams (10-13, 1-9 Atlantic 10 Conference). Ty Perry added 11 points. Ivan Raut had 10 points.
Honor scores 30 pts and Fordham stuns Big 10 Rutgers 78-70
NEW YORK (AP) — Freshman guard Nick Honor scored a career-high 30 points going 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the 3-point line and Fordham upset Rutgers 78-70 on Saturday.
The two teams remained even for most of the first half; Rutgers outscored Fordham 12-7 in the last five minutes of the half and led 31-26 at intermission.
Cobb’s buzzer-beater lifts Fordham over Columbia 70-69
NEW YORK (AP) — Freshman Jalen Cobb scored a career-high 16 points and his layup beat the buzzer to send Fordham to a 70-69 victory over upset-minded Columbia on Sunday at the Johnny Bach Classic in the Bronx.
Honor scores 17 to help Fordham past Youngstown State, 67-61
NEW YORK (AP) — Nick Honor hit four free throws in the final 18 seconds and Fordham held off Youngstown State, 67-61 on Saturday to earn back-to-back wins in the Rams Johnny Bach Classic tournament.
Fordham knocked off Florida International in the Friday opener, 83-77.
The Penguins held a 10-point lead going into the final minute of the first half, but Honor got to the basket for back-to-back layups to cut the lead to 34-28 lead at intermission.
Saint Joseph’s wins 2nd straight, sweeps Fordham, 71-55
NEW YORK (AP) — James Demery and Shavar Newkirk combined to score 39 points to help power Saint Joseph's to a second straight win, 71-55 over Fordham in an Atlantic 10 contest on Wednesday night.
The Hawks ended their five-game losing streak Saturday and completed a season-sweep of Fordham.
Saint Joe's limited the Rams to just 19 points in the first half and took an 18-point advantage into intermission.
Fordham erases 17-point gap, beats George Mason 67-66
NEW YORK (AP) — Prokop Slanina scored 17 points, Ivan Raut added 16 and Fordham overcame a 17-point deficit to beat George Mason 67-66 on Wednesday night.
Joseph Chartouny's jumper with 2:37 left capped Fordham's scoring and made it 67-62. George Mason scored a pair of baskets in the final two minutes but missed two attempts to go ahead in the final 14 seconds.
Hot-shooting carries Fordham past Massachusetts, 82-69
NEW YORK (AP) — Prokop Slanina scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Fordham bounced back from a home-court loss to Rhode Island by knocking off Massachusetts for the fourth straight time, 82-69 in an Atlantic 10 Conference contest Saturday afternoon.
The Rams shot 56- percent from the field in the game, including 12 of 25 from distance, and five of their six players scored in double figures to complete their season sweep of the Minutemen.
Fordham downs Richmond 69-65 in OT behind Chartouny
NEW YORK (AP) — Joseph Chartouny scored six of his 26 points in overtime and Fordham beat Richmond 69-65 on Wednesday night to end a two-game skid.
Ivan Raut's 3-pointer put the Rams up 63-61 in OT and Chartouny made back-to-back layups for a five-point lead. Richmond's Nick Sherod made a pair of free throws and the Spiders closed to 67-65 after De'Monte Buckingham made one of two from the line with 2 seconds left.
No. 10 WVU beats Fordham 86-69
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Jevon Carter picked up his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 assists to lead No. 10 West Virginia to an 86-69 victory over Fordham on Saturday.
The Mountaineers (11-1) started out a little sluggish in the first half, unable to prevent Fordham runs over the first 7 minutes of the game.
James Bolden and Sagaba Konate led a couple of WVU scoring runs before halftime to stretch the lead as high as 16 points with 4 minutes remaining before halftime.
Fordham tops Manhattan 70-57 in Battle of Bronx
NEW YORK (AP) — Will Tavares tied his career high with 19 points and added five steals, four rebounds and three assists to help propel Fordham to a 70-57 win over Manhattan on Sunday.
Reserve Perris Hicks hit all six of his shots from the floor and scored a career-high 15 for the Rams (2-4), who won the Battle of the Bronx and closed within 57-53 in the series.
Raut, Slanina have career games, Fordham tops LIU Brooklyn
NEW YORK (AP) — Ivan Raut scored 21 points, Prokop Slanina had 19 and 11 rebounds and Fordham defeated LIU Brooklyn 81-68 on Monday night.
Raut, a 6-foot-7 freshman guard from Montenegro, was 7 of 9 from 3-point range for his career-high output. Slanina also had career-best numbers. Joseph Chartouny added 15 points and Will Tavares 13 for the Rams (1-1).
