NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — David Caraher scored 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds and passed for five assists as Houston Baptist roared back from a 17-point first-half deficit to keep Northwestern State winless in Southland Conference play, 77-70 on Wednesday night.
Northwestern State hit 11 of its first 15 shots to take a quick, 22-7 lead, but the Huskies closed the half on a 30-17 run over the final 10 minutes to trail by just four at intermission, 43-39 of the first half.
Lamar holds off Northwestern State 79-75
NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Colton Weisbrod scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, James Harrison added 18 points with four 3-pointers, and Lamar held off Northwestern State 79-75 on Wednesday night for the Demons' 15th straight loss.
Torey Noel had 10 points and five assists for the Cardinals (15-10, 7-5 Southland Conference), who made eight 3-pointers and forced 18 turnovers but turned it over 14 times.
Robinson, New Orleans beat Northwestern State 73-67
NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Bryson Robinson scored 17 points and Ezekiel Charles tied his career highs with four 3-pointers and 15 points to help New Orleans beat Northwestern State 73-67 on Wednesday night.
Travin Thibodeaux added 11 points for New Orleans (10-10, 7-2 Southland Conference).
Smith hits winner, Texas A&M-CC clips Northwestern St 67-65
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Myles Smith scored the game-winner on a jump shot from 12 feet with less than a second on the clock, but Texas A&M-Corpus Christi still had to survive a full-court pass and a twisting scoop shot by Northwestern State for the 67-65 win Wednesday night.
Sean Rhea scored a career-best 17 points with eight rebounds for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-9, 1-2 Southland Conference) and the last-second winner put Smith at seven points for the game. Tre Gray added 10.
Harvey, Ledoux help McNeese thwart NW State rally 72-63

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Benjamin Batts hit a 3-pointer to get LSU Shreveport within a point of Northwestern State with a minute to play and DJ Clayton scored on a layup with 14 seconds left to lift the NAIA-Pilots to an 85-84 upset of the Division I Demons Saturday night in the second annual Shreveport-Bossier Holiday Classic at the Gold Dome.
Paige, Colorado State cruise past Northwestern State 72-60
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — J.D. Paige scored 19 points, Che Bob had 13 points and 12 rebounds and Colorado State beat Northwestern State 72-60 on Friday night.
Paige was 6 of 10 from the floor and made three 3-pointers. Bob was 4-of-10 shooting and had five assists and four steals. Raquan Mitchell added 16 points for Colorado State (3-3). Deion James chipped in 10 points.
Lane, West combine for 33, to lead NW State to 1st win
MONROE, La. (AP) — Ishmael Lane and Jalan West combined for 33 points as Northwestern State jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 76-61 win over Louisiana-Monroe to grab its first win of the season on Tuesday night.
Lane had 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots. West was 4 of 8 from distance for 16 points with four assists and three steals for the Demons (1-4). Iziahiah Sweeney added 13 points and Devonte Hall chipped in 11.
Cashaw, Adams, Lapray post career highs in Rice’s 87-65 win
NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Connor Cashaw scored a career-high 27 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Rice and its new coach, Scott Pera, to their first victory this season, 87-65 over Northwestern State on Friday night.
Cashaw, a junior, was 9-of-16 from the floor, including 4 of 8 on 3-pointers, while grabbing nine rebounds. Sophomore Ako Adams added career highs of 16 points and nine assists and A.J. Lapray, a graduate transfer from Pepperdine, scored a career-high 18 points off the bench.
SMU throttles cold-shooting Northwestern State 81-35
DALLAS (AP) — Jarrey Foster scored 19 points, Ben Emelogu II had 17 points and a career-high nine rebounds, and SMU routed Northwestern State 81-35 on Wednesday night.
Northwestern State made only 12 field goals — three coming in the first half— and shot 24.5 percent for the game. The Demons missed 21 straight shots over 17-plus minutes in the first half.
