Pats’ Flowers, Brown fined $20K by NFL for hits vs. Chargers
NEW YORK (AP) — New England Patriots teammates Trey Flowers and Trent Brown have each been fined $20,054 by the NFL for illegal hits in the Patriots' divisional-round win last Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Flowers' fine was for a low hit on quarterback Philip Rivers that resulted in a penalty for roughing the passer in the third quarter of the Patriots' victory. Brown was docked for his unnecessary roughness penalty after a block during the game.
Chiefs missing Berry, Colts without Hooker for playoff game
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs' Eric Berry and Spencer Ware joined the Colts' Malik Hooker and Tyquan Lewis in street clothes for their cold, snowy divisional playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday.
Wide receiver Keke Coutee active for Texans against Colts
HOUSTON (AP) — Houston wide receiver Keke Coutee is active for the Texans for Saturday's wild-card game against the Indianapolis Colts after missing the last five games with a hamstring injury.
His return is a big boost to a Houston receiving group that has been hit hard by injuries, including season-ending injuries to Will Fuller and Demaryius Thomas.
Jets activate CB Robinson, release S Wilcox
NEW YORK (AP) — The Jets activated cornerback Rashard Robinson and released safety J.J. Wilcox on Monday.
New York had until 4 p.m. EDT to activate or release Robinson, who returned to the team last week on a roster exemption following a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Robinson was arrested and charged with drug possession and carelessly driving in Morris County, New Jersey, last December. Police accused Robinson of having marijuana-laced candy in his car.
Jets LB Martin out vs. Lions, WR Kearse and S Maye doubtful
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets outside linebacker Josh Martin has been ruled out Monday night at Detroit because of a concussion.
The Jets also announced Saturday that wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) and safety Marcus Maye (foot) are doubtful to play.
With Martin sidelined, New York promoted rookie outside linebacker Frankie Luvu from the practice squad and waived fullback Lawrence Thomas.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Antonio Brown is good to go against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Pittsburgh Steelers' All-Pro wide receiver is active for the first time in a month as the AFC North champions host the Jaguars with a spot in the AFC title game on the line.
Brown injured his left calf in the first half of a loss to New England on Dec. 17 and missed Pittsburgh's final two games.

HOUSTON (AP) — Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown, who leads the NFL in yards receiving, was inactive against the Houston Texans on Monday after injuring his left calf last week.
Brown is out indefinitely as the AFC North champion Steelers chase a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Offensive lineman Jeff Allen, who sustained a concussion last week, was inactive for the Texans.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh safety Mike Mitchell and linebacker James Harrison are active as the Steelers try to clinch the AFC North title against Baltimore.
Mitchell missed last week's victory over Cincinnati with an ankle injury. Harrison has been healthy but inactive since Oct. 22. The five-time Pro Bowler is playing thanks in part to an injury to inside linebacker Ryan Shazier.
Lynch fined $12K, 3 Steelers docked $24K
NEW YORK (AP) — Marshawn Lynch's return to the NFL came with a price.
The Oakland Raiders running back was fined $12,154 by the league for flipping the middle finger on both hands last Sunday in the fourth quarter of the team's 26-16 victory at Tennessee. Lynch, who was retired last season, ran for 76 yards on 18 carries and caught a 16-yard pass.

Buccaneers bolster secondary, sign ex-Broncos S T.J. Ward
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed safety T.J. Ward, two days after the three-time Pro Bowl selection was released by the Denver Broncos.
Ward spent the past three seasons with the Broncos, who cut him on Saturday. The eight-year pro helped Denver win the Super Bowl two years ago.
The Bucs cleared room on the roster for Ward on Sunday when they traded safety J.J. Wilcox to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steelers keep tinkering, pick up safety Wilcox from Bucs
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to tinker with their secondary, acquiring safety J.J. Wilcox from Tampa Bay.
Wilcox, a fifth-year pro who played the past four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, was sent to the Steelers on Sunday along with a seventh-round pick in 2019 in exchange for Pittsburgh's sixth-round pick in the 2018 draft.
Wilcox had five interceptions across 58 games in four seasons in Dallas.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa Bay has traded safety J.J. Wilcox to the Pittsburgh Steelers and added 11 players who were with the Buccaneers in training camp to the practice squad.
Wilcox, a fifth-year pro who played the past four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, was sent to the Steelers on Sunday in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in 2018 and a seventh-rounder in 2019.

Cowboys sign veteran Robert Blanton for depth at safety
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran safety Robert Blanton for depth after losing five-year starter Barry Church and J.J. Wilcox in free agency.
Blanton's addition Thursday puts him in a group that includes likely starters Byron Jones and Jeff Heath, although next week's draft could alter that outlook. Blanton is going into his sixth season as a fifth-round choice by Minnesota in 2012.
Giants LG Pugh sits another week, misses Cowboys game
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Giants left guard Justin Pugh is missing his fifth straight game with a sprained knee.
