Hartford beats Binghamton 67-57 behind Carroll’s 23 points
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) — John Carroll grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and scored 23 points and Hartford rallied to beat Binghamton 67-57 on Saturday to win its fourth straight and retain a top-three spot in the America East Tournament.
Hassan Attia added 12 points and J.R. Lynch had nine points and five steals for the Hawks (18-11, 11-4), who made 18 free throws in sweeping the season series against the Bearcats (11-19, 2-13), who have lost 10 of their last 11.
Hartford tops New Hampshire 79-62 for Gallagher’s 100th win
DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Jason Dunne scored 24 points with six 3-pointers, J.R. Lynch added 17 points, and Hartford beat New Hampshire 79-62 on Wednesday night for coach John Gallagher's 100th career win, ending a six-game skid against the Wildcats.
John Carroll scored 12 points and Jack Hobbs added 11 for the Hawks (13-10, 6-3 America East Conference), who hit 11 3-pointers and shot 55.1 percent from the field to New Hampshire's 36.4 percent. George Blagojevic grabbed 11 rebounds.
Hartford rallies from 26-point deficit, beats UMass Lowell
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Jason Dunne had 20 points and Jack Hobbs scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half to help Hartford rally from a 26-point deficit for a 77-70 victory over UMass Lowell on Saturday night.
J.R. Lynch added 17 points, four assists and four steals, John Carroll scored 10 and Hassan Attia had eight points, 10 rebounds and three blocks for Hartford (12-10, 5-3 America East).
Lynch double-double leads balanced Hartford past Maine 86-68
BANGOR, Maine (AP) — J.R. Lynch scored 15 points and made 10 assists and three steals as Hartford defeated Maine 86-68 Thursday night with seven players scoring at least nine points.
Jack Hobbs added 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting, four of those from 3-point range, Jason Dunne scored 12, John Carroll and George Blagojevic each scored 11 points. Travis Weatherington tossed in 10. Six players in double figures is a season-high for Hartford (11-9, 4-2 America East Conference).
Lynch, Carroll score 17 apiece; Hartford beats Albany 72-64
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — J.R. Lynch and John Carroll scored 17 points apiece to help Hartford hold off Albany for a 72-64 win on Wednesday night in the America East Conference opener for both teams.
Lynch and Carroll combined for 10-of-17 shooting from the field, including 5 of 5 from 3-point range, and made 9-of-9 free throws. Travis Weatherington and Jason Dunne each had 12 points for Hartford (8-7).
Carroll, Lynch combine for 40, Hartford holds off Miami (OH)
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica (AP) — John Carroll scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds, J.R. Lynch scored 18 on four 3-pointers and Hartford's early lead survived a strong finish by Miami (Ohio) 68-58 Sunday night in the finale of the Jamaica Classic tournament.
Jason Dunne scored 11 points with five assists for the Hawks (3-2), Jack Hobbs scored 10 and went 4-for-4 at the line. Lynch also pulled down 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
Carroll, Attia lead Hartford past Gordon 80-63
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — John Carroll led a balanced attack with 15 points, Hassan Attia had a double-double and Hartford defeated Division-III Gordon College 80-63 on Sunday.
Attia had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds. Jack Hobbs, Jason Dunn and reserve Travis Weatherington had 11 points apiece for the Hawks (2-0).
Behind the 6-foot-10 Attia, who had two blocks, Hartford had 36 points in the paint and limited the Fighting Scots to 18.
Hartford holds on, beats Central Connecticut St. 85-84 in OT
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — John Carroll, who had a career-high 26 points, hit a late jumper in the extra period to give Hartford just enough cushion to hold off Central Connecticut State for an 85-84 overtime win on Friday night.
Carroll's jumper gave Hartford an 81-79 lead with 1:28 remaining. Jack Hobbs and Travis Weatherington made four straight free throws to seal the win. CCSU's Tyler Kohl hit a trey in the last second for the final score.
