CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Freshman James Akinjo had 19 points, including a key 3-point play, and seven assists, Jamorko Pickett blocked a shot in the closing seconds and Georgetown beat Illinois 88-80 on Tuesday night.
Bluiett has 31, No. 6 Xavier beats Georgetown 96-91 in OT
CINCINNATI (AP) — Trevon Bluiett got off his 3-pointer and felt the foul. The ball went in, he went down, and No. 6 Xavier had the big play it needed to pull one out.
Bluiett had a season-high 31 points, including a four-point play that tied it late in regulation, and the Musketeers never trailed in overtime while holding on for a 96-91 victory over Georgetown on Saturday.
Cain hits winner as DePaul tops Georgetown 74-73 in thriller
WASHINGTON (AP) — Eli Cain scored a season-high 27 points and hit the game-winner with 7.3 seconds on the clock as DePaul battled past Georgetown 74-73 in a thriller Wednesday night, winning on the last possession for the second season in a row.
Marcus Derrickson sank a pair from the line to lift Georgetown into a 70-70 tie, then nailed a 3-pointer to put the Hoyas ahead 73-72 with 50 seconds remaining.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Marcus Derrickson scored a career-high 27 points, 16 in the two overtime periods, Jagan Mosely made two free throws with 1.5 seconds left, and Georgetown escaped with a 93-89 victory on Saturday and a season sweep of St. John's.
In a game overshadowed by Hall of Fame rivals coaching their alma maters, Derrickson gave the Hoyas and coach Patrick Ewing bragging rights. Georgetown won 69-66 at Madison Square Garden earlier this month.
Hegner leads Creighton’s 3-point parade in 90-66 victory
WASHINGTON (AP) — Toby Hegner made a career-high five 3-pointers in scoring 19 points and Creighton defeated Georgetown 90-66 on Saturday.
Hegner made 5 of 8 3-point tries and the Blue Jays (13-3, 3-1 Big East) hit 16 of 36 from the arc in winning their third straight game and eighth in their past nine.
Georgetown stays perfect with 83-74 win over NC A&T
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) — Jessie Govan scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Jamorko Pickett scored 12 points to help Georgetown remain unbeaten with an 83-74 win over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.
Kaleb Johnson added 10 points for Georgetown (8-0). Entering Saturday's game, the Hoyas' opponents were a combined 8-52 against Division I competition.
Georgetown holds St. John’s to 5 FGs in 2nd half, wins 83-55
WASHINGTON (AP) — L.J. Peak made 10 straight free throws and scored 16 points, and Georgetown beat St. John's 83-55 on Monday night for the Hoyas' first Big East victory this season.
Georgetown went on a 22-2 run, spanning halftime, to take control. St. John's didn't make its second field goal of the second half until Marcus LoVett's 3-pointer at the 9:17 mark and the Red Storm's fifth make after halftime came with 22.2 seconds left on Malik Ellison's dunk.
No. 18 Butler fends off host Georgetown in OT
WASHINGTON (AP) — Freshman Kamar Baldwin ensured No. 18 Butler offered a productive encore to its upset of No. 1 Villanova.
Baldwin scored a career-high 16 points and helped hold Big East scoring co-leader Rodney Pryor scoreless to help the Bulldogs earn an 85-76 overtime victory over Georgetown on Saturday.
Butler (14-2, 3-1 Big East), which upended the defending national champions 66-58 on Wednesday, never trailed in the overtime to earn its third consecutive victory.

MIAMI (AP) — Trey Mourning was the last Georgetown player to get into the game, as well as the last player to leave the court after posing for plenty of photos and hugs with friends and family.
Best of all, his team got a win.
L.J. Peak scored 24 points, Rodney Pryor added 19 and Georgetown closed with a flourish to beat La Salle 93-78 on Saturday in the Hoophall Miami Invitational. It was tied at 67 with 8:44 left, before the Hoyas finished on a 26-11 run.
Pryor should help new-look Georgetown bounce back
WASHINGTON (AP) — When 24-year-old graduate-student transfer Rodney Pryor joined Georgetown, not everyone appreciated him acting like the big man on campus.
"From Day One he came in, he was very vocal," junior forward Isaac Copeland said. "At first it kind of rubbed me the wrong way like, 'What is this new dude talking about all this stuff for?' But after Week One or Week Two I was like, he's going to be a big part of our team this year."
