Dolphins’ Howard ruled out against Patriots because of knee
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — NFL interception leader Xavien Howard was ruled out of the Miami Dolphins' game Sunday against New England because of a left knee injury, compounding the team's challenge facing Tom Brady.
Center Jake Brendel was also ruled out because of a calf injury. Receiver Danny Amendola, limited in practice all week, is questionable to play against his former team.
Howard might be able to return for next week's game at Minnesota, coach Adam Gase said Friday.
Landry, 2 others ejected in Dolphins’ loss to Bills
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins punctuated a disappointing season of undisciplined play with a fight and three ejections Sunday.
The meltdown led by excitable receiver Jarvis Landry came in the final minutes of a 22-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Bills end playoff drought, Browns finish 0-16
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills snapped the longest current non-playoff drought in North American pro sports with a 22-16 victory Sunday at Miami and Cincinnati's victory at Baltimore. The Bills hadn't made the postseason since 1999.
Buffalo (9-7) will travel to Jacksonville next weekend in a wild-card game.
The Bills' anxiety was compounded by the loss of 1,000-yard rusher LeSean McCoy with a right ankle injury. He was carted off the field in the third quarter.
Overcoming adversity, Dolphins rejoin playoff race
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins' season suddenly seems headed in the right direction, their backup center leading the way.
Jake Brendel replaced injured Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey and played the entire second half as the Dolphins rallied from a 17-point deficit to win at Atlanta. With the 20-17 win the Dolphins are 3-2, and only three AFC teams have a better record.
CB Chris Culliver waived by Dolphins; backup center promoted
MIAMI (AP) — Cornerback Chris Culliver has been waived by the Miami Dolphins, the latest setback for the veteran as he tries to come back from knee surgery.
Culliver was activated Nov. 7 but hasn't played since tearing the ACL and medial collateral ligament in his right knee last Thanksgiving while with the Redskins.
