Penn pulls away from Rice in 2nd half to post a 92-76 win
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A.J. Brodeur scored 23 points and Jake Silpe added a career-high 16 as Penn won its second straight game to start the season, knocking off Rice, 92-76 on Friday night.
The game was a homecoming both for Rice coach Scott Pera, a former assistant coach with the Quakers, and graduate transfer Dylan Jones, a four-year player at Penn before transferring to Rice.
Pennsylvania tops PSU Brandywine 99-40 for record win
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Freshman Jarrod Simmons scored 16 points, Darnell Foreman added 14 points and Pennsylvania cruised past Penn State Brandywine 99-40 on Saturday for a record win.
The 59-point margin of victory was the largest in program history, topping an 87-36 win against Cornell in 1974. It was the most points scored by Penn since 105 against Lafayette on Jan. 18, 2006.
