Vikings place starting safety Andrew Sendejo on IR
EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have placed safety Andrew Sendejo on injured reserve, ending his season after a groin injury limited him to only five games.
The 31-year-old Sendejo, the fourth-longest tenured player on the team, latched on with the Vikings in 2011 as a special teams player and has started 58 games over the past six seasons. He has been a fixture in the starting lineup next to Harrison Smith since 2015.
Jaguars waive former draft picks Lee, Myrick in final cuts
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars waived two former draft picks in final roster cuts Saturday, including quarterback and sixth-round draft pick Tanner Lee.
The Jaguars also cut speedy cornerback Jalen Myrick, a seventh-round pick in 2017. Undrafted rookie Tre Herndon, from Vanderbilt, beat out Myrick for the fifth and final cornerback spot.
London native Eluemunor active for Ravens’ game vs. Jaguars
LONDON (AP) — Baltimore Ravens rookie offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, born in London, is active for the first time in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.
Eluemunor, a fifth-round draft pick out of Texas A&M, was 12 when he saw the first NFL game played in London on television and decided he wanted to play football.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed cornerback Jalen Myrick to his rookie contract.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Myrick was the Jaguars' seventh-round pick. Myrick played for Minnesota in college and had 41 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss, during his senior season. He led the team with 12 passes defended and had one interception.
He ran a 4.28 in the 40-yard dash at the combine, which was the fastest by a defensive back this year.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Cornerback Jalen Myrick has extended Minnesota's run of defensive backs in the NFL draft to four straight years.
Myrick was selected Saturday by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round with the 222nd overall pick. Myrick recorded a 4.28-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, the fastest recorded time ever for a Big Ten player. He had five career interceptions for the Gophers, returning two for touchdowns and also had success returning kickoffs.
