ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Sean Mobley recorded 12 points as VCU easily beat Saint Bonaventure 85-55 on Saturday.
Marcus Santos-Silva added 11 points for the Rams, who held the Bonnies to 26.6 percent shooting, the lowest mark of the season for a VCU opponent. VCU ranks fifth in the nation in opponent field goal percentage with an average of 0.376.
St. Bonaventure routs Siena 82-40 on Kaputo’s career night
SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Nelson Kaputo scored a career-high 21 points on 5-of-6 shooting from behind the arc, Courtney Stockard added 17 points with nine rebounds, and St. Bonaventure routed Siena 82-40 on Wednesday night for its third straight win.
Jalen Poyser and Osun Osunnyi scored 13 apiece with Osunnyi grabbing seven rebounds for the Bonnies (4-5), who shot 56 percent and held the Saints to 33 percent to retain possession of the Franciscan Cup trophy.

SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Jalen Poyser scored 20 points and led five players into double-figure scoring as St. Bonaventure won its second straight game, routing Delaware State 90-61 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bonnies snapped a four-game losing streak Wednesday with a 70-55 win over Canisius.
Akron takes 7th place at Cayman Islands Classic
GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands (AP) — Daniel Utomi sank six 3-pointers and had 22 points and nine rebounds, leading Akron past St. Bonaventure 61-49 on Wednesday for seventh place at the Cayman Islands Classic.
Utomi made all five of his 3-point attempts in the first half as Akron built a 30-23 lead. The Zips held St. Bonaventure to just one field goal over a nine-minute stretch in the second half and used a 14-2 run for a 46-29 lead.
Niagara wins season-opener, beats St. Bonaventure 80-72
NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. (AP) — Marvin Prochet had 20 points and 10 rebounds to help Niagara win its season opener with an 80-72 victory over St. Bonaventure on Monday night.
It was Niagara's first win at home against its instate rival since Dec. 22, 2009, and have back-to-back wins against the Bonnies for the first time since winning eight straight from 2003-2010. The Purple Eagles have also won consecutive season openers for the first time since 2007-08.

SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Jalen Poyser scored 23 points and St. Bonaventure rolled to a 67-36 win over Jackson State on Saturday.
Poyser was 8 of 16 from the field including four 3-pointers for the Bonnies (1-1), who had 15 steals contributing to 23 Jackson State turnovers. Kyle Lofton added 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and four steals and Nelson Kaputo chipped in eight points.

Three UNLV players leaving the program
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three UNLV players say they are leaving the program after one season under coach Marvin Menzies.
The school announced Wednesday that Tony Baxter Jr., Zion Morgan and Jalen Poyser will not return next season.
Poyser played for previous coach Dave Rice and stuck around after the hiring of Menzies last year. The sophomore guard averaged 10.4 points and 2.6 assists in 31 games last season, including 21 starts.
Air Force beats UNLV 81-58
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) — Hayden Graham had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Air Force ended a six-game losing streak with an 81-58 win over UNLV on Wednesday night.
The Falcons (11-17, 4-11 Mountain West) led 38-28 at the break and had their largest lead at 75-48 with 5:05 left.
Graham reached his 500th career rebound, and with 1,000 points already, become the eighth player in Air Force history to do both.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Trey Kell scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half to help San Diego State beat UNLV 64-51 on Tuesday night.
Kell finished 9 of 15 from the field. Dakarai Allen added 10 points for San Diego State (11-7, 3-3 Mountain West), which has won three straight.
Jalen Poyser scored 11 points to lead UNLV (9-10, 2-4). Christian Jones, Jovan Mooring, and Uche Ofoegbu each chipped in 10 points.
Hutchison scores career-high 28, Boise State tops UNLV 77-59
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Chandler Hutchison had a career-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Boise State beat UNLV 77-59 on Wednesday night.
The Broncos (10-4, 3-0 Mountain West) opened with the first nine points, had a 22-point lead in the first half and led by no less than 17 after the break in winning their sixth straight.
Hutchison made 12 of 19 from the field and 3 of 4 from 3-point range. Paris Austin added 16 points, six rebounds and seven assists and Nick Duncan scored 10.
UNLV earns first conference win 81-75 over Wyoming
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jovan Mooring scored 17 points and had seven assists as UNLV fended off Wyoming to earn an 81-75 win on Saturday.
Christian Jones added 15 points and 10 rebounds while Tyrell Green and Jalen Poyser each had 14 points for the Rebels (8-7, 1-1 Mountain West).
UNLV was outshot by Wyoming, 45 percent to 39.1 percent, but held a 24-16 advantage at the free-throw line, hit two more 3-pointers, and won the turnover battle.
Clavell powers Colorado State past UNLV 91-77 in MWC opener
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Gian Clavell had 14 of his 21 points in the second half and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Colorado State beat UNLV 91-77 in the Mountain West opener for both teams on Wednesday night.
Colorado State (9-5) held a double-digit lead from early in the second half until the final buzzer. UNLV (7-7) led for most of the first half, but the Rams closed the period on a 14-2 run to go into the break with a 46-43 lead.
Josh Jackson leads No. 3 Kansas past UNLV 71-53
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Asked what he thought about his team's first true road game, Kansas coach Bill Self didn't mince words.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tyrell Green made 9 of 13 shots and scored a career-high tying 23 points, including a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 1:09 to play, and UNLV scored the final seven points in its 68-61 win over Southern Illinois on Monday night.
Kris Clyburn added 11 points and seven boards and Jalen Poyser scored 10. Jovan Mooring had a career-high six rebounds, tied a career best with six assists and scored all of his four points in the final 39 seconds.
UNLV holds off S. Utah on strength of Morgan 89-81
CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Dwayne Morgan scored 19 points and had a career-high 14 boards and Jovan Mooring chipped in 16 points to lead UNLV past Southern Utah 89-81 on Wednesday.
Mooring made one of two free throws to put the Rebels up 73-65 with five minutes left before Southern Utah's John Marshall made a layup and 3s by James McGee and Race Parsons reduced UNLV's lead to three.
UNLV holds on to beat Western Kentucky 71-61
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tyrell Green scored 23 points with seven rebounds as UNLV held on late to beat Western Kentucky 71-61 on Saturday night in the Global Sports Classic.
Green was 8 of 12 from the field including five 3-pointers for the Rebels (4-2). Jalen Poyser added 22 points and nine assists and Dwayne Morgan chipped in eight points with six rebounds.
Poyser leads 6 in double figures as UNLV rips No. Arizona
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jalen Poyser scored 17 points and led six UNLV players in double figures as the Rebels cruised to a 110-71 win over Northern Arizona on Tuesday night.
The game was the second round of the Global Sports Classic, which continues Friday in Las Vegas.
Tyrell Green, Djordjije Sljivancanin, and Jovan Mooring each finished with 15 points, Troy Baxter Jr. had 13, and Uche Ofoegbu added 10 for the Rebels (3-1). Green added nine rebounds and Poyser led the team with six assists.
UNLV races by UC Riverside down the stretch in 74-62 win
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jalen Poyser hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 points and UNLV turned on the jets down the stretch to beat UC Riverside 74-62 on Wednesday night.
Poyser shot 7 of 11 from the field and also added seven rebounds and three steals. Christian Jones finished with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the Rebels (1-1).
