JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Darrynton Evans ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries to help Appalachian State beat Arkansas State 35-9 on Tuesday night.
The Mountaineers (4-1, 2-0 Sun Belt Conference) took the lead for good at 14-9 on Zac Thomas' 25-yard back shoulder pass to Corey Sutton with 2:57 left in the second quarter.
Appalachian State cruises past South Alabama 52-7
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Zac Thomas passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more, leading Appalachian State past South Alabama 52-7 on Saturday.
Appalachian State (3-1, 1-0) had five consecutive touchdown drives in the first half, scoring 21 points in each of the first two quarters for a 42-7 lead. Thomas had scoring runs of 7 and 54 yards and throwing plays of 2 and 27 yards.
Appalachian St. jumps to early lead, beats Gardner-Webb 72-7
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Jalin Moore ran for 119 yards and two touchdowns and Appalachian State scored 28 points in the first quarter on its way to beating Gardner-Webb 72-7 on Saturday.

Appalachian State cruises to share of Sun Belt title
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Taylor Lamb passed for four touchdowns and ran for another to help Appalachian State wrap up a share of the Sun Belt Conference title with a 63-14 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.
Lamb finished with 242 yards passing and 87 yards rushing. Thomas Hennigan caught all four TD passes for the Mountaineers (8-4, 7-1) and had five catches for 99 yards altogether.
App State beats Georgia State, stays in Sun Belt title hunt
ATLANTA (AP) — Jalin Moore ran 32 times for 239 yards and a touchdown on Saturday, and Appalachian State beat Georgia State 31-10.
The Mountaineers (7-4, 6-1) stayed tied for first place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with one game left in the season. They will host Louisiana-Lafayette next Saturday.
Moore made it 7-0 with a 3-yard run early in the second quarter, but the Panthers (6-4, 5-2) scored on a short-field drive, thanks to Antreal Allen's interception, to tie it at 7.
Appy State picks off 6 passes, beats NM State 45-31
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Jalin Moore, who ran for 241 yards, and Terrence Upshaw rushed for two touchdowns apiece, Clifton Duck and Tae Hayes each had three interceptions and Appalachian State defeated New Mexico State 45-31 on Saturday.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Taylor Lamb accounted for three touchdowns, Jalin Moore ran for 111 yards and a score and Appalachian State cruised to a 37-7 win over New Mexico State on Saturday.
Lamb completed 20 of 28 passes for 220 yards and a score and added 71 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Marcus Cox had 140 yards rushing and Michael Rubino kicked field goals of 20, 31 and 27 yards for Appalachian State (9-3, 7-1 Sun Belt).
Cox sets rushing record, leads Appalachian St. to 42-17 win
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Marcus Cox rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns to become Appalachian State's all-time leading rusher and lead the Mountaineers to a 42-17 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.
Cox has amassed 4,820 rushing yards in his career, surpassing Kevin Richardson's 4,804 yards (2004-08).
Troy beats Appalachian State 28-24; shares lead in Sun Belt
TROY, Ala. (AP) — Jordan Chunn ran for two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 1:02 left, and Troy beat Appalachian State 28-24 on Saturday.
Brandon Silvers led the game-winning 85-yard drive, capped by Chunn's 11-yard scoring run up the middle, and Taylor Lamb threw two incomplete passes from the Trojans' 38 into the end zone to end it.

BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Taylor Lamb threw four touchdown passes while Jalin Moore and Marcus Cox combined to rush for 248 yards on 28 carries and a score as Appalachian State routed Texas State 35-10 on Saturday.
Lamb threw touchdowns of 8-, 31-, 6-, and 3-yards to Jaylan Barbour, Jaquil Capel, Mock Adams, and Barrett Burns, respectively. His TD pass to Adams gave Appalachian State (7-2, 5-0 Sun Belt) a 25-point lead at the half.

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Taylor Lamb passed for 199 yards and ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns to help Appalachian State beat Georgia Southern 34-10 on Thursday night.
Jalin Moore added 126 yards rushing and Marcus Cox ran for 115 yards for the Mountaineers (6-2, 4-0 Sun Belt). Each had a touchdown run in the final quarter and Appalachian State scored the final 34 points after falling behind early.
Appalachian State grabs 3 INTs in 37-19 win over Idaho
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Taylor Lamb threw for 220 yards and rushed for one touchdown, Jalin Moore had 114 yards rushing and a score, and Appalachian State beat Idaho 37-19 on Saturday.
Appalachian State broke it open with 13 unanswered points in the third quarter, highlighted by freshman Clifton Duck's 44-yard pick-6 on an overthrown pass. Moore extended the Mountaineers' lead to 30-9 lead when he powered up the middle for a 5-yard score.

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Taylor Lamb threw for 201 yards and a touchdown, Jalin Moore ran for 106 yards and two scores, and Appalachian State beat Louisiana-Lafayette 24-0 on Wednesday night for the Ragin' Cajuns' first home shutout since 2002.
Appalachian State (4-2, 2-0 Sun Belt) scored on its first four possessions, had a 24-0 lead at halftime and cruised in the second half.
Moore leads Appalachian State to 17-3 win over Georgia State
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Jalin Moore ran for 45 of 159 yards for a touchdown to break a scoreless tie in the third quarter and Appalachian State intercepted four passes in beating Georgia State 17-3 on Saturday in a Sun Belt opener.
Moore weaved through the Panthers defense to score with 13:32 left in the third quarter.
Appalachian State RB Cox leaves game with lower body injury
BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Appalachian State running back Marcus Cox has left Saturday's game against Miami with a lower body injury and will not return, the team announced.
Cox, the Mountaineers' leading rusher, appeared to injure himself at the end of a 55-yard touchdown run that was called back because of a holding penalty.
Cox has seven carries for 30 yards. He came into the game with 248 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
