2 newcomers set to play for Denver on Sunday
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos didn't bring cornerback Jamar Taylor and wide receiver Andre Holmes on board this week just to fill in at practice.
"They're both dressing" Sunday at San Francisco, coach Vance Joseph said. "You're going to see Andre out there playing (special) teams and playing on the offense. Jamar is going to be our fourth corner this week."
Broncos sign veteran CB Jamar Taylor with Chris Harris out
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos have signed veteran cornerback Jamar Taylor to add depth to their defensive backfield with star cornerback Chris Harris Jr. out with chip fracture in his lower right leg.
Taylor is a six-year pro from Boise State who has appeared in 74 career games and made 41 career starts with the Arizona Cardinals (2018), Cleveland Browns (2016-17) and Miami Dolphins (2013-15).
Cardinals waive CB Taylor, DE Dora, re-sign CB Amerson
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have waived veteran cornerback Jamar Taylor following an ugly home loss to Oakland.
The team also waived defensive end Vontarrius Dora, re-signed cornerback David Amerson, and promoted cornerback Chris Jones and wide receiver Jalen Tolliver from the practice squad. Amerson was signed by Arizona a week ago but released on Saturday.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — For now anyway, Jamar Taylor seems the odds-on favorite to win the cornerback job opposite Patrick Peterson, a chore that's loaded with action since that's the direction most opponents decide to throw.
Last week, the Arizona Cardinals sent a 2020 sixth-round draft pick to Cleveland in exchange for Taylor, who started 29 games for the Browns the past two seasons.
Cardinals release cornerback Marcus Williams
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Cardinals have released cornerback Marcus Williams.
Monday's move comes after the team acquired cornerback Jamar Taylor in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.
Taylor enters summer workouts as the favorite to win the starting cornerback spot opposite Patrick Peterson.
CLEVELAND (AP) — Jamar Taylor's trade to Arizona is official.
Cleveland traded another of their starting quarterbacks to the Cardinals on Saturday for a sixth-round draft pick in 2020. The teams agreed to the swap on Friday and had to work out final details before it was announced.
The Browns previously shopped Taylor and finally worked out a deal with the Cardinals, who will likely start him opposite star Patrick Peterson.
PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a trade that would bring cornerback Jamar Taylor from the Cleveland Browns, two people with knowledge of the situation said Friday.
The people, who sought anonymity because the trade had not been officially announced, said the deal was expected to be completed Friday.
The trade would help fill a significant need for the Cardinals — a cornerback to play opposite Patrick Peterson. The Browns would receive a sixth-round draft pick.
Browns sign cornerback Jamar Taylor to 3-year extension
CLEVELAND (AP) — It hasn't happened yet this season, but the Browns believe Jamar Taylor will help them win down the road.
Cleveland signed the 26-year-old cornerback to a three-year, $15 million contract extension on Saturday, locking up a player they've identified as part of their future core.
The deal includes a $3 million signing bonus and $10.05 million in the first two years of the contract.
Yanda inactive for Ravens against Browns
BALTIMORE (AP) — Five-time Pro Bowl guard Marshal Yanda has been placed on the inactive list by the Baltimore Ravens for their Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns.
Yanda has been dealing with a shoulder injury for much of the season. He returned from a two-game absence to play last week against Pittsburgh.
Baltimore's inactive list also includes cornerback Shareece Wright and tight end Crockett Gillmore, both of whom have thigh injuries.
CLEVELAND — The most important play of the Jets’ 31-28 win Sunday may have been an incomplete pass.
Ryan Fitzpatrick’s first throw of the second half should have been intercepted. Jamar Taylor had it in both of his hands, and it would have been a devastating blow for a Jets team that had played awfully and trailed, 20-7.
But receiver Quincy Enunwa got his hand on the ball and pried it loose, before Taylor could come down with it.
Browns cornerback Joe Haden questionable for Sunday’s game
CLEVELAND (AP) — Add cornerback Joe Haden to the Browns' lengthy bumped-and-bruised list.
The two-time Pro Bowler has a groin issue and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Miami. Haden did not take part in the team's walk-through on Friday and coach Hue Jackson said it's too early to say if Haden will be able to play against the Dolphins.
