WASHINGTON (AP) — Nick Robinson led a balanced attack with 14 points, Taylor Funk had a double-double and fourth-seeded Saint Joseph's pulled away for a 68-49 win over fifth-seeded George Mason on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic-10 Conference Tournament.
Funk had 12 points and 10 rebounds, James Demery had 12 points off the bench and Shavar Newkirk added 13 points for the Hawks (16-15), who face top-seeded and 25th ranked Rhode Island in the semifinals.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — James Demery scored 18 points and led five players in double-figure scoring as Saint Joseph's beat La Salle 78-70 on Saturday in a regular season finale.
Shavar Newkirk added 16 points for the Hawks (15-15, 10-8 Atlantic 10 Conference), Anthony Longpré had 11 points and Chris Clover and Nick Robinson had 10 apiece, with Robinson grabbing eight rebounds.
The Hawks closed out the regular season on a three-game streak and are currently fourth place in the conference standings.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Taylor Funk scored 22 points and Saint Joseph's closed fast to post an 85-73 win over Massachusetts in an Atlantic 10 showdown Saturday afternoon.
C.J. Anderson got the Minutemen even at 61-61 on a 3-pointer with 10:54 remaining, but Funk answered with a 3 and a layup to park a 24-12 finish by the Hawks.
Saint Joe's bounced back from a 91-62 loss to Davidson Tuesday night and earned a split in the season series with UMass, which won at Amherst, 72-69.

Courtney Stockard added 15 points with 13 rebounds, Matt Mobley scored 11 points with five assists and LaDarien Griffin had 10 points with 11 rebounds for the Bonnies (13-6, 3-4 Atlantic 10 Conference).
Demery, Oliva lift St. Joseph’s past Fordham 68-46
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — James Demery and Pierfrancesco Oliva combined for 47 points and 15 rebounds and Saint Joseph's took control in the second half to defeat Fordham 68-46 on Saturday.
Dembery had 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Hawks (9-9, 4-3 Atlantic 10). Oliva added a career-high 22 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Joseph Chartouny and Prokop Slanina had 11 points for the Rams (6-13, 1-6).
Newkirk, Demery spark Saint Joseph’s past Dayton 81-65
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Shavar Newkirk scored 17 points and five Saint Joseph's players scored in double figures as the Hawks shot nearly 50 percent, ended a two-game slide and defeated two-time defending Atlantic 10 champion Dayton 81-65 on Wednesday night.

Saint Joseph’s senior forward James Demery and Penn’s sophomore guard Ryan Betley were named Philadelphia co-Big 5 Players of the Week.
Demery tallied 18.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for Saint Joseph’s. He had a team-high 24 points in an Atlantic 10 Conference victory over St. Bonaventure last weekend, shooting 62 percent from the field (8-of-13 FG). The senior forward scored 13 points against VCU on Jan. 3, while hitting the 1,000-point plateau for his career.

Funk hit three straight free throws and the Hawks led 84-78 on his 3-pointer with 2:09 left in OT. The Rams missed six 3s and a jumper over the next three minutes while James Demery and Pierfrancesco Oliva combined for four more Saint Joseph's points.
VCU's Jonathan Williams' layup tied it at 76 with 10 seconds left in regulation.
George Washington beats Saint Joseph’s in A-10 opener, 70-64
WASHINGTON (AP) — Yuta Watanabe scored 18 points and Arnaldo Toro grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 10 points and George Washington held off Saint Joseph's 70-64 on Saturday in an Atlantic 10 opener.
James Demery made a pair of layups early in the second half to bring the Hawks within 32-27 before George Washington (8-6) went on a 15-2 run and lead by 18 with 13:55 to play.

Kimble, who finished with 14 points, put the Hawks (10-10, 3-5 Atlantic 10) ahead for good with a 15-foot jumper from the right wing.

St. Joseph’s puts away rival Penn 78-71
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Lamarr Kimble scored 23 points and Saint Joseph's won its first Philadelphia Big 5 series game of the season 78-71 over Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
The Hawks entered 0-2 in Big 5 play with losses to Temple and Villanova. Saint Joseph's rounds out the series against La Salle on Jan. 28.

Moore’s near triple-double leads George Mason past St. Joe’s
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Marquise Moore scored eight of his 24 points in the final 2:47, and had 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals as George Mason pulled away late for a 75-67 win over Saint Joseph's on Tuesday night.
Moore, a 6-foot-2 senior guard who came in averaging 10.6 rebounds per game, has 1,006 career points. He became the second George Mason player with at least 1000 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists.
Kimble’s 19 pts leads St. Joseph’s past Columbia 85-65
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Lamarr Kimble scored a career-high 19 points and dished out eight rebounds and Shavar Newkirk added 17 points as Saint Joseph's defeated Columbia 85-65 on Monday night.
