EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Three graduates of the University of Oregon were winners at the Academy Awards.
The winners on Sunday included filmmaker James Ivory, Jake Swantko and Richard Hoover, The Eugene Register-Guard reported .
In a rare showing for the University of Oregon, three Ducks won statuettes Sunday at the Oscars.
The winners included longtime filmmaker James Ivory, a four-time nominee, who took home the award for best adapted screenplay for the film “Call Me By Your Name.” The 1951 UO graduate and Klamath Falls native became the oldest ever Oscar winner in a competitive category at age 89.

‘Get Out,’ ‘Call Me By Your Name’ win Writers Guild Awards
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jordan Peele's social satire horror "Get Out" and James Ivory's adaptation of the coming-of-age novel "Call Me By Your Name" have won the top honors from the Writers Guild of America.
Peele won the prize for best original screenplay and Ivory for adapted at the Writers Guild Awards held in Los Angeles and New York Sunday night.
"Get Out" and "Call Me By Your Name" are also nominated for original and adapted screenplay Oscars.
James Ivory, 89, may set an Oscar record. He’d rather work.
NEW YORK (AP) — James Ivory didn't see "Call Me By Your Name" with an audience until the week before he was nominated for its screenplay. He caught it at a New York theater with a good audience, he says, that applauded at the end. It was his first tangible taste of the adulation for the film he wrote, about first love in Northern Italy, since it began its celebrated run at last year's Sundance Film Festival.
Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor dies at age 79
NEW DELHI (AP) — Shashi Kapoor, a leading Bollywood actor and producer from the 1970s and '80s, has died after a long illness. He was 79.
A family member, Randhir Kapoor, said he passed away Monday at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he was being treated for a kidney ailment.
Kapoor acted in more than 100 Hindi films and was also a key theater personality. He appeared as well in British and American movies produced by Merchant Ivory productions, run by Ismail Merchant and James Ivory.

Oscar-winning cinematographer Walter Lassally dies in Greece
ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Hospital officials on Greece's island of Crete say German-born cinematographer Walter Lassally, who won an Academy Award for the 1964 movie Zorba the Greek, has died following complications from surgery. He was 90.
Lassally lived outside the city of Hania, near the beach that served as the backdrop for the movie's final scene with actors Anthony Quinn and Alan Bates dancing to the music of Zorba the Greek.
