Darius Hines had 12 points and six assists for Marist (10-14, 5-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Aleksandar Dozic added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Marist posted a season-high 21 assists.

Prochet’s 19 points lead Niagara past rival Canisius, 78-70
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Marvin Prochet scored 19 points and Niagara built a 15-point lead through the first half and held on to post a 78-70 win over archrival Canisius in the oldest rivalry in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Wednesday night.
The Purple Eagles (11-11, 4-5) now have won four if the last five games in the series, which dates to the 1905-06 season. The loss snapped a three-game Canisius win streak.
Niagara unloads on Monmouth for 75-48 win behind Barton

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Marvin Prochet scored 23 points and James Towns scored 15 with a career-high 10 assists and seven rebounds and Niagara beat Norfolk State 83-75 on Saturday.
Prochet grabbed eight boards with three assists and Towns made 11 of 13 free throws. Keleaf Tate scored 14 points and Dominic Robb and Raheem Solomon each added 11 for Niagara (7-5). The Purple Eagles have won five of their last six after a 2-4 start to the season.
Towns’ 23 points, 3-point play boosts Niagara to victory
LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — James Towns scored 23 points including a 3-point play with 21 seconds left and Niagara edged New Hampshire 71-67 on Sunday.
UNH (2-8) came back from a 10-point second-half deficit, taking a 67-66 lead on Marque Maultsby's two free throws in the final minute. Towns was fouled making a layup and added the free throw before Keleaf Tate added two more free throws with 5.6 seconds left after rebounding Maultsby's missed pull-up jumper.
Niagara rides Towns, Tate to 71-70 upset over Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Their best player on the sideline in sweats while playing their sixth straight game on the road, it would have been easy, even explainable for Niagara to play the role of pushover for Pittsburgh on Monday night.

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. (AP) — Marvin Prochet had 20 points and 10 rebounds to help Niagara win its season opener with an 80-72 victory over St. Bonaventure on Monday night.
It was Niagara's first win at home against its instate rival since Dec. 22, 2009, and have back-to-back wins against the Bonnies for the first time since winning eight straight from 2003-2010. The Purple Eagles have also won consecutive season openers for the first time since 2007-08.

Dukes' free throw gave the Purple Eagles (18-10, 11-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) an 85-82 lead with five seconds left. Niagara fouled Roland Griffin, who missed both free throws, and though Jan Svandrlik got the putback, Iona was unable to foul before the buzzer.

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Dominic Robb scored 18 points on 9 of 13 from the field and Niagara held on down the stretch to defeat Norfolk State 65-61 on Saturday.
Back-to-back baskets by Kahlil Dukes pushed Niagara to a nine point lead, 58-49, with 4:37 left. Norfolk State regained control from there, however, putting together a 9-2 stretch to cut it back to 60-58 on a Jonathan Wade jumper with 2:30 remaining.
Niagara picks up first win with strong second-half effort
LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Marvin Prochet scored 21 points and Niagara picked up its first win of the season with a dominant second-half performance in a 93-74 win over Drexel on Wednesday night.
The game was the fourth night of the Scarlet Night Showcase, which concludes Saturday for the Purple Eagles on the road against North Texas.
Kahlil Dukes finished with 19 points, James Towns had 17, and Matt Scott added 15 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for Niagara (1-4).
