DENVER (AP) — A late rally by Colorado spoiled Jim Montgomery's return to Denver.
J.T. Compher and Mikko Rantanen scored 45 seconds apart late in the third period, and the Avalanche rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 on Saturday night.
Rantanen also had an assist, and Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche. Colorado has won four in a row and is 6-0-1 in its last seven games.

BOSTON (AP) — The World Series champion Red Sox completed their tour of the three other major Boston-area professional sports teams Monday night, bringing their recently captured trophy to a Bruins game.
Owner John Henry, president Sam Kennedy and pitcher Joe Kelly were on hand for a ceremonial faceoff between the Bruins and Dallas Stars. Kelly dropped the puck between Bruins' captain Zdeno Chara and Stars' captain Jamie Benn.
Kennedy carried the trophy onto the ice, and Kelly brought it off.
Anton Khudobin makes 31 saves, Stars beat Maple Leafs 2-1
TORONTO (AP) — Dallas backup goalie Anton Khudobin stopped the high-scoring Toronto Maple Leafs.
Khudobin made 31 saves to help the Stars beat the Maple Leafs 2-1 on Thursday night.
"He's such a great teammate," Dallas coach Jim Montgomery said. "He brings energy every day. He puts a smile on everyone's face. With (Bishop) playing so well it's been hard to get him in as many games as we'd like. "But it's great for his confidence, great for the team morale how good he played."
Spezza, Klingberg score as the Stars top Kings 4-2
DALLAS (AP) — Limited to 11 forwards because of injuries, the Dallas Stars got the game they needed from top scorers Jason Spezza and John Klingberg.
Spezza and Klingberg each had a goal and an assist and the Stars snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night.
Blake Comeau and Tyler Pitlick each scored their first goal of the season, and seven of the 11 forwards had at least one point.
Stars score 4 on 30 shots in 2nd period, beat Ducks 5-3
DALLAS (AP) — Alexander Radulov started a rally and John Klingberg finished it as Dallas kept firing shots in its busiest period in team history.
Klingberg scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period, when Dallas scored on four of its team-record 30 shots, and the Stars beat the Anaheim Ducks 5-3 on Saturday night.
Connor Carrick and Jamie Benn also scored for Dallas in the second. Tyler Seguin assisted on the goals by Radulov and Benn.

DALLAS (AP) — Jamie Benn wasn't impressed with his 600th career point, or his 601st.
Those two power-play goals, and three others by his linemates, were more than enough for the Dallas Stars to beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 on Saturday night.
When asked whether he'd thought about 600, Benn answered simply, "No."
Tyler Seguin — who had two goals, one on the power play, and two assists — had more to say.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Calling it "a lucky play," Jamie Benn stole the puck from Tomas Hertl and scored the go-ahead goal with 3:06 left before tacking on an empty-netter for the hat trick in the Dallas Stars' 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
"It was just a read," Benn said. "I'll take it."

TORONTO (AP) — James van Riemsdyk had his third career hat trick and Mitch Marner scored the winning goal in a shootout to lift Toronto over the Dallas Stars 6-5 on Wednesday night, extending the Maple Leafs' franchise-record home winning streak to 11 games.
Marner beat Kari Lehtonen in the third round of the shootout, completing Toronto's comebacks from 4-2 and 5-4 deficits in the third period.

DALLAS (AP) — Jamie Benn turned another tying goal late in regulation into the extra point for the Dallas Stars in the tight Western Conference playoff race.
Benn scored 3:04 into overtime after Alexander Radulov's tying tally in the final three minutes of regulation, and the Stars rallied to beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Saturday.
The win came two days after Dallas salvaged a point with a goal in the final seconds of regulation against NHL-leading Tampa Bay before losing in the extra period.
