NORTH BERWICK, Scotland (AP) — Bernd Wiesberger will take a two-shot lead into the last round of the Scottish Open after carding 6-under 65 on Saturday.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Welsh golfer Jamie Donaldson followed his opening 62 with a solid 3-under-par 69 to take the clubhouse lead in the weather-interrupted second round of the Dubai Desert Classic on Friday.
Tee times were delayed for nearly three hours because of thick fog. That led to none of the afternoon groups, including Rory McIlroy and defending champion Sergio Garcia, being able to finish their second round when darkness suspended play.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Jamie Donaldson flirted with the European Tour's first-ever 59 before settling for a 10-under 62 Thursday in the first round of the Dubai Desert Classic.
In perfect scoring conditions at the Emirates Golf Club, the 42-year-old Donaldson took a one-shot lead over Anthony Wall and David Horsey.
Tyrrell Hatton (64) was fourth, while four-time major winner Rory McIlroy was among five players at 65.
MONZA, Italy (AP) — Defending champion and home favorite Francesco Molinari was among six players who shared a one-stroke lead after the opening round of the Italian Open.
Jamie Donaldson, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Eddie Pepperell, Matt Wallace and Alexander Bjork also shot 7-under 64s Thursday at the Golf Club Milano, next to Monza's Formula One circuit.
MALMO, Sweden (AP) — English golfer Chris Wood moved into a one-stroke lead despite a bogey in his last hole in the third round of the Nordea Masters on Saturday.
Wood, who has three European Tour victories, fired a second straight 5-under-par 68. His best result this year was at the end of April at the China Open, a tie for fourth.
One shot behind Wood were Benjamin Hebert of France (70) and Renato Paratore of Italy (71) at the Barseback Gold and Country Club. Neither has won on the tour.
CHASKA, Minn. (AP) — Welshman Jamie Donaldson had quite the debut in the Ryder Cup two years ago, though his rookie success wasn't enough to get him invited back.
Not to worry, though, because the Europeans have reloaded. They will send six rookies — exactly half the team — to the first tee over the next three days in their effort to win for the fourth time in a row.
