WASHINGTON (AP) — Kamar Baldwin had 18 points as Butler narrowly beat Georgetown 73-69 on Saturday.
Jordan Tucker had 15 points for Butler (14-10, 5-6 Big East Conference). Paul Jorgensen added 12 points. Nate Fowler had three assists for the visitors.
Mac McClung had 21 points for the Hoyas (15-9, 5-6). Jamorko Pickett added 18 points. Jessie Govan had 12 points and nine rebounds.
LeBlanc’s double-double sparks Georgetown win
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Freshman Josh LeBlanc had 17 points with 11 rebounds and Georgetown defeated Providence 76-67 on Wednesday night to sweep the season series.
Mac McClung had 13 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Hoyas (15-8, 5-5 Big East). James Akinjo had 10 points and eight assists, Jessie Govan had 13 points and Jamorko Pickett scored 12.
Akinjo sparks late rally, leads Georgetown over Xavier 80-73
WASHINGTON (AP) — James Akinjo scored 10 of his 23 points during a rally with just under five minutes to play to spark Georgetown past Xavier 80-73 on Thursday night.
Akinjo hit a 3-pointer with 4:56 remaining to give the Hoyas a 67-66 lead as they closed on a 16-7 surge. Akinjo made two 3s and four free throws during the stretch. Trey Mourning added a 3-pointer, and Jamorko Pickett scored on a putback that made it 75-70 with 38 seconds to go before Akinjo sealed it at the line.
McClung scores 25, Govan 20 in Hoyas’ 89-78 victory
NEW YORK (AP) — Mac McClung scored 25 points, Jessie Govan added 20 with nine rebounds and Georgetown beat St. John's 89-78 on Sunday.
McClung was 9-of-19 shooting with four 3-pointers and slammed home a dunk in transition with 1:11 to go for an 81-77 lead after the Red Storm missed three shots on their possession. A block by Govan led to another easy transition basket by Josh LeBlanc for the Hoyas (13-7, 3-4 Big East) as they avenged a 97-94 overtime loss to St. John's in Washington on Jan. 5.
Govan, LeBlanc lead Georgetown past Howard 102-67
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jessie Govan and Josh LeBlanc picked up double-doubles and Georgetown tuned up for conference play by rolling over city rival Howard 102-67 on Saturday.
Govan had 23 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season and LeBlanc had 22 and 11 for the third of his career. Jahvon Blair added 15 points and five assists for the Hoyas (10-3), who open Big East play at Butler on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jessie Govan scored 26 points and Georgetown made key 3-pointers down the stretch to beat Central Connecticut State 85-78 on Saturday night.
Govan was 10 of 13 from the field including two 3s. James Akinjo made all eight of his free-throw attempts and finished with 13 points for Georgetown (2-0), which made 11 3-pointers. Jamorko Pickett added 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from long range. Trey Mourning also chipped in 12 points.
Georgetown beats Maryland Eastern Shore 68-53
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jessie Govan scored 13 points, freshman Josh LeBlanc had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Georgetown beat Maryland Eastern Shore 68-53 on Tuesday night.

Despite a miserable shooting night from its top scorer Trevon Bluiett, No. 4 Xavier broke off a 12-0 run midway through the second half to separate itself from Georgetown and win 89-77 Wednesday at Capital One Arena.

Georgetown beats Seton Hall after giving away 17-point lead
WASHINGTON (AP) — Marcus Derrickson scored 22 points, grabbed a career-best 18 rebounds and hit the game-winning 3-pointer on Saturday as Georgetown beat Seton Hall 83-80.
Derrickson got an open look on a deep 3 near the end of the shot clock and buried it with 4.2 seconds left. He was also fouled on the close out by Khadeen Carrington but missed the foul shot. Myles Powell, who finished with 25 points for the Pirates, missed a 3-point attempt as time ran out.
Walker scores 16 in first start, leads Hoyas in 89-49 win

WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) — Jessie Govan scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Jamorko Pickett scored 12 points to help Georgetown remain unbeaten with an 83-74 win over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.
Kaleb Johnson added 10 points for Georgetown (8-0). Entering Saturday's game, the Hoyas' opponents were a combined 8-52 against Division I competition.
Georgetown stays perfect with 76-60 win over Coppin St.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) — Jessie Govan scored a season-high 26 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and unbeaten Georgetown beat winless Copping State 76-60 on Sunday.
Govan, a point off his career high, now has four double-doubles this season. He scored 16 points in the first half, made 7 of 10 from the free throw line and corralled eight rebounds.
Govan leads Georgetown to another victory, 102-68
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jessie Govan scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds and Georgetown gave new head coach Patrick Ewing another victory, beating Mount St. Mary's 102-68 on Wednesday night.
Govan had 20 points and 15 rebounds for the Hoyas (2-0) in their season-opening victory against Jacksonville. Against the Mountaineers (0-3), he was 7-of-9 shooting and made all three of his 3-point attempts.
