4th line fuels streaking Sharks in 6-2 win over Devils
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The job of a fourth line is usually to provide energy, give some rest to the top players and occasionally chip in with a goal.
San Jose's group of Eric Fehr, Barclay Goodrow and Jannik Hansen did a lot more than that.
Hansen scored his first goal of the season and Fehr and Goodrow also scored for a fourth-line hat trick that helped the Sharks win their season-high fifth straight game, 6-2 over the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.

Banged-up Sharks try to slow down McDavid and Oilers
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — No matter who is healthy enough to play for the San Jose Sharks when they open their first-round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers, the task will be the same.
If the Sharks are going to duplicate last year's long run to the Stanley Cup Final, they must start by figuring out how to slow down Oilers superstar Connor McDavid starting in Game 1 on Wednesday in Edmonton.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Logan Couture scored twice, Brent Burns recorded three assists and all anyone wanted to talk about was the new guy in the lineup.
Jannik Hansen got an assist in his first game since joining San Jose, helping the Sharks beat the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Thursday night in a matchup of division leaders.
Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski also scored for the Sharks, who have won five of their last six games.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — San Jose general manager Doug Wilson has seen more than enough from his team in the first three-quarters of the season to justify sacrificing a bit of the future for a playoff push.
So Wilson didn't hesitate when he got the chance to add winger Jannik Hansen from Vancouver less than 24 hours before the trade deadline for former first-round pick Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional fourth-round pick that would turn into a first-rounder if San Jose wins the Stanley Cup.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The San Jose Sharks got just what they wanted Tuesday night: a late win to maintain their cushion in the Pacific Division and a key player to provide a boost for their playoff push.

Sharks acquire F Jannik Hansen in trade from Canucks
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Jannik Hansen from the Vancouver Canucks for prospect Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional draft pick.

Gostisbehere has 3 assists, Flyers beat Canucks 3-2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Shayne Gostisbehere's career night helped the Philadelphia Flyers to a morale-boosting victory in their push for a playoff spot.
The second-year defenseman set up each one of his team's goals for his first three-point game in the NHL, and the Flyers beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Sunday.
"It's good to get some points, but I think it was more important to get the two points for our team," Gostisbehere said. "We really needed those."
Johansson scores 2, Capitals hand Canucks 5th straight loss
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Washington Capitals have avoided long losing streaks the last 1 1/2 seasons, and did it again Saturday night.
Marcus Johansson scored twice and the Capitals beat Vancouver 5-2 to avoid their first three-game skid since February 2015.
"We've got good leadership, it shows all the time and I think they recognized what the message was and I thought we played really well," coach Barry Trotz said.
