LAST YEAR: Coach Vance Joseph's first year was debacle in every phase. Denver's anemic offense cycled through three QBs during soured season that included eight-game skid, franchise's longest in half-century, and featured eight double-digit losses. Exhausted defense surrendered too many points and special teams were anything but. GM John Elway thought about firing Joseph but decided to give him second chance and then bolstered roster.
Cardinals send OT Veldheer to Broncos for 6th-round pick
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have traded veteran offensive tackle Jared Veldheer to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a sixth-round pick in this year's draft.
The 30-year-old Veldheer, at 6-foot-8 and 322 pounds, started 53 games in four seasons with Arizona after coming to the team from Oakland, where he spent his first four NFL campaigns. Veldheer played left tackle the first four seasons and switched to the right side last year.
Cardinals lose tackle Jared Veldheer with cracked ankle
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Add another name to the long list of Arizona Cardinals players lost for the season due to injury.
Starting left tackle Jared Veldheer has a cracked ankle and will go on injured reserve, coach Bruce Arians said Monday.
Veldheer was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 12-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
Arians also said starting right guard Earl Watford has a high ankle sprain and will miss some time.
Cardinals O-line finally solidifying in front of Peterson
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — After a season of shifting personnel, either due to injuries or ineffectiveness, the offensive line is finally solidifying for the Arizona Cardinals.
Just in time to plow the way for Adrian Peterson.

O-line, 4th quarter fade familiar problems for Cardinals
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — A pair of painfully familiar problems surfaced in the Arizona Cardinals' 28-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
First, the offensive line had a rough time holding off the Cowboys' pass rush Monday night, especially right tackle Jared Veldheer. And the Arizona defense, after playing well for three quarters, couldn't hold off Dallas when the game was on the line in the fourth.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says left tackle Jared Veldheer will be placed on injured reserve with a torn triceps and safety/cornerback Tyrann Mathieu will be out three to six weeks with a shoulder injury.
