FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty said Monday he won't go to the White House if the Super Bowl champions are invited by President Donald Trump, and teammate and twin brother Jason said he highly doubts he would make the trip.
A day after the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams for their sixth NFL title, Devin McCourty said flatly that he would not join the team for a White House visit.
ATLANTA (AP) — Patriots defensive backs and twins Devin and Jason McCourty both have a lot on their minds as they prepare for Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the Rams.
Jason is thinking about the past and the magnets their mother, Phyllis Harrell, collected and used to post various keepsakes on the refrigerator of their childhood home in Nyack, New York.
Jason and Devin, the eldest twin by 27 minutes, were about 12 years old and playing in the Valley Cottage Pop Warner league together.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Jason McCourty has taken longer than usual to do things around the Patriots practice facility this week as he's prepared for their divisional playoff matchup with the Chargers.
He's been one of the first to arrive at breakfast with his teammates. He's lingered in meetings and often been one of the last players to make it off the field following workouts. Whatever the task, he has savored it.

Former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is now head coach in Detroit. Longtime assistant Brian Flores is running the defense in New England without the formal title of coordinator.
BOSTON (AP) — Three New England Patriots players will lead a discussion about the criminal justice system with candidates for Suffolk district attorney.
The discussion Tuesday with five people running for the top prosecutor post will be moderated by the Patriots' safety Devin McCourty, his brother and cornerback Jason McCourty and special teams ace Matt Slater.
CLEVELAND (AP) — Jamar Taylor's trade to Arizona is official.
Cleveland traded another of their starting quarterbacks to the Cardinals on Saturday for a sixth-round draft pick in 2020. The teams agreed to the swap on Friday and had to work out final details before it was announced.
The Browns previously shopped Taylor and finally worked out a deal with the Cardinals, who will likely start him opposite star Patrick Peterson.
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Cleveland Browns traded their third quarterback of the offseason, sending Kevin Hogan to the Washington Redskins.

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Browns signed free agent cornerback E.J. Gaines, the latest addition to a revamped secondary.
Gaines played last season for the Buffalo Bills. The 26-year-old will be reunited in Cleveland with Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams as the two previously worked together with the Los Angeles Rams.
The 26-year-old Gaines, who also met with the New York Jets, will bring speed and depth to the Browns.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New Patriots cornerback Jason McCourty has trouble settling on one thing that excites him most about finally playing alongside twin brother Devin next season.
He's looking forward to everything — from sitting in team meetings to sweating through offseason workouts.
That's because Jason wants to soak up every moment of a dream they've shared since he was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2009 and Devin went to the Patriots in 2010.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The McCourty twins are back together.

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Browns waived defensive back Ibraheim Campbell with an injury designation.

LONDON (AP) — Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is active and is expected to play for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday when they face the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham Stadium.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — LeShaun Sims never talks trash and is almost as quiet off the football field. The Tennessee Titans' fifth-round pick in 2016 out of Southern Utah is letting his play and work ethic speak for him.
And he is doing well enough he might wind up winning the starting cornerback job opposite veteran Logan Ryan ahead of first-round draft pick Adoree Jackson.
TENNESSEE TITANS (9-7)
OPEN CAMP: July 28, St. Thomas Sports Park, Nashville, Tennessee.

"We've got a lot of new faces back there," Mularkey said Tuesday on the first day of a planned three-day minicamp. "We can do more things with our coverages with our secondary now."
CLEVELAND (AP) — Free agent defensive back Jason McCourty has signed a two-year contract with the Cleveland Browns.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Titans coach Mike Mularkey will have the chance Sunday to see something for the first time since he took over this team last November: Starting cornerbacks — Jason McCourty and Perrish Cox — playing together.
"We laughed about that in the preseason," McCourty said Thursday. "He ended up rolling his ankle the day before the first one. I think last year we played one full game together against Buffalo.
