Van Dyke’s career-high 23 carries Utah over Arizona, 83-76
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Parker Van Dyke may not start but he picked up right where he left off.
One game after capping a 23-point second-half comeback with a buzzer-beater at UCLA, Van Dyke made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 23 points and Jayce Johnson also set a career-best with 17 points to help Utah beat Arizona 83-76 on Thursday night.
Stith leads Old Dominion past Middle Tennessee 55-50
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — B.J. Stith had 20 points and 10 rebounds as Old Dominion narrowly defeated Middle Tennessee 55-50 on Saturday night.
Jason Wade had 11 points for Old Dominion (20-6, 10-3 Conference USA), which won its fourth straight game. Ahmad Caver added 10 points. Dajour Dickens had three blocks for the road team.
Donovan Sims had 14 points for the Blue Raiders (8-17, 5-7). Antonio Green added 13 points and six rebounds. Jayce Johnson had seven rebounds.
Utah holds on for 77-70 win over USC
LOS ANGELES (AP) — After losing twice last week at home, Utah made the road look very comfortable Wednesday night in a 77-70 victory over USC.
The Utes (12-10, 6-4) led by as many 23 points midway through the second half, before holding off a furious rally by the Trojans (13-10, 6-4).
Sims, Green help Middle Tennessee beat UAB 71-65
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Donovan Sims had 19 points, including a late 3-pointer, and Antonio Green scored 17 to help Middle Tennessee beat UAB 71-65 on Wednesday night.
Sims was 6-of-10 shooting, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, with nine rebounds, four assists and two steals. Reggie Scurry added 14 points and seven boards and Jayce Johnson scored 11 for Middle Tennessee (6-16, 3-6 Conference USA). The Blue Raiders snapped a two-game skid and won for just the third time in 18 games.
Beard Jr., Jacob lead FIU past Middle Tennessee 83-76
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Brian Beard Jr. and Trejon Jacob combined to make 11 3-pointers and score 48 points and Florida International pulled away in the second half for an 83-76 victory over Middle Tennessee in a Conference USA opener on Thursday night.
Buchanan has 21 as Murray St. races past Middle Tenn. 64-42
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Shaq Buchanan scored 21 points with seven rebounds and seven steals as Murray State shut down Middle Tennessee 64-42 on Saturday night.
Tevin Brown added 15 points as Murray State's defense continued to thwart the opposition shooting from beyond the arc. The Racers have held opponents to an average of 21 percent shooting (18 of 85) from long range. Middle Tennessee made just 2 of 13 (15 percent) from distance against the Racers (5-1) whose only loss was to Alabama.
Lipscomb renews Middle Tennessee rivalry with 84-74 win
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Garrison Mathews led four players scoring in double figures with 29 points and Lipscomb beat Middle Tennessee 84-74 on Saturday night.
Rob Marberry scored 12 and Kenny Cooper and Ahsan Asadullah each scored 10 as the Bisons (6-1) won in a series that had taken an 11-year break. It was Lipscomb's first win in the series since Jan. 12, 1961.
Last season: 23-12, finished as NIT runner-up.

Brooks has 20 points and No. 7 Oregon beats Utah 79-61
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Jordan Bell thinks the Oregon Ducks who are closing out the season would have won the games they lost at the start.
And that's the whole idea: Improvement.
Dillon Brooks scored 20 points and No. 7 Oregon defeated shorthanded Utah 79-61 on Thursday night to extend the Ducks' home winning streak to 41 games.
Bell added 17 points for the Ducks (23-4, 12-2 Pac-12), who wore new neon green uniforms that glowed under blacklights during player introductions.
Bonam’s 21 leads Utah over UC Riverside 85-67
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah has three players that hail from the state of Michigan and the trio made all the difference against UC Riverside.
"We just have a little grit to ourselves and we always try and play hard. We get after it," Kyle Kuzma (Flint, Michigan) said.
Lorenzo Bonam (Inkster, Michigan) scored a career-high 21 points and Kuzma added 18 to help Utah run past the Highlanders 85-67 on Friday night.
