Cowboys claim safety, center for depth because of injuries
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have claimed safety Ibraheim Campbell and center Adam Redmond off waivers to address two positions that need depth because of injuries.
Dallas also signed defensive end Charles Tapper to the practice squad Sunday, a day after waiving the fourth-round draft pick from 2016.
Campbell, a fourth-year player, was in training camp with Houston before getting waived. The second-year pro Redmond was with Buffalo.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey exited Sunday's 40-10 win over the the San Francisco 49ers because of a right groin injury, leaving the kicking duties to safety Jeff Heath.
Bailey appeared to aggravate the injury in a first-quarter kickoff return. After Jason Witten's one-handed touchdown catch, the Cowboys went for a two-point conversion that failed, leaving them with a 20-3 lead in the second quarter.
Cowboys sign veteran Robert Blanton for depth at safety
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran safety Robert Blanton for depth after losing five-year starter Barry Church and J.J. Wilcox in free agency.
Blanton's addition Thursday puts him in a group that includes likely starters Byron Jones and Jeff Heath, although next week's draft could alter that outlook. Blanton is going into his sixth season as a fifth-round choice by Minnesota in 2012.
