Fine throw to Bussey puts North Texas over UTSA 29-26
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Mason Fine threw a 22-yard touchdown to Rico Bussey Jr. in the final seconds of the game to put North Texas up 29-26 over UTSA on Saturday night.
The Mean Green (4-3, 3-0 Conference USA) trailed 26-22 late after UTSA took the lead on a 46-yard scoring strike by Dalton Sturm. With just over a minute to play, Fine orchestrated a 98-yard drive capped by the winning throw to Bussey with 10 seconds remaining.

North Texas: Improved from one win last season to 5-7 under first-year coach Seth Littrell. Since there weren't enough bowl-eligible teams, the Mean Green were among the fill-in teams based on APR scores.
Henderson’s 5 TDs sends Louisiana Tech past N. Texas 45-24
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Carlos Henderson scored five touchdowns for the second time this season, and Louisiana Tech pulled away from North Texas in a 45-24 win over North Texas on Saturday night.
Ryan Higgins threw a 12-yard pass to Henderson for his fourth TD with 7:13 to play in the third for a 38-24 lead. Higgins found Henderson again on a 9-yard pass with the fourth quarter just underway.
Higgins threw for 253 yards and Jarred Craft had 24 carries for 120 yards and a score.
Jeffrey Wilson scores 3 times, North Texas beats Army 35-18
WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — North Texas coach Seth Littrell seemed a little worn out at the end of the game, and it was understandable. The Mean Green had beaten Army for the first time in five tries and he had repeatedly jumped and spun around on the sidelines amidst a flurry of turnovers by the Black Knights.
Facing the second-rated defense in the nation, Jeffrey Wilson rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns and North Texas beat Army 35-18 on a wet, raw Saturday at Michie Stadium.
North Texas sneaks by Rice 42-35 in 2OT
HOUSTON (AP) — Willy Ivery plunged in from 4-yards out, Rice's Darik Dillard was stuffed on 4th-and-1 on the ensuing drive, and North Texas escaped Rice with a 42-35 win in 2OT on Saturday night.
Jeffrey Wilson led North Texas (2-2, 1-0 Conference USA) with 157 yards rushing and three touchdowns and Mason Fine added 224 yards through the air with a touchdown.
