LAS VEGAS (AP) — Even with three different coaches in three years, New Mexico State keeps making NCAA Tournament appearances.
In the offseason, Chris Jans took over an already successful Aggies program after Paul Weir left for instate rival New Mexico. One year earlier, Marvin Menzies left for UNLV.
Lofton, New Mexico St. beat Seattle 84-79 in WAC semis
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 31 points, including six 3-pointers, and Jemerrio Jones had his 19th double-double of the season to help New Mexico State beat Seattle 84-79 on Friday night in Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
Jones finished with 12 points and 22 rebounds, his fifth game with at least 20 rebounds this season. AJ Harris added 16 points and Keyon Jones scored 12 for top-seeded New Mexico State (27-5).
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Zach Lofton put up 21 points and Jemerrio Jones pulled down 15 rebounds and top-seeded New Mexico State cruised past Chicago State 97-70 in a first-round game in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday night.
The Aggies advance to a semifinal contest Friday.
New Mexico State (26-5) took a 45-26 lead at intermission and shot a crisp 51.4 percent from the field (36 of 70), including 53.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc (14 of 26)

Zach Lofton added 17 points and 10 rebounds, Johnathon Wilkins had 16 points and A.J. Harris 15 for the Aggies (25-5, 12-2 Western Athletic Conference) who finish first in the conference standings and head to the WAC Tournament quarterfinals as the No. 1 seed to face eighth-seeded Chicago State on March 8.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Sidy N'Dir scored 15 points, nine coming at the foul line, and Jemerrio Jones tossed in 12 as Western Athletic Conference leader New Mexico State led most of the way to defeat Chicago State 78-67 Thursday night.
Jones scored 10 of his points after halftime as the Aggies widened a three-point lead.

New Mexico State beats cold-shooting CSU Bakersfield 69-43
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 14 points and New Mexico State beat cold-shooting Cal State Bakersfield 69-43 on Thursday night for its 10th straight win.
New Mexico State (21-3, 8-0 Western Athletic Conference), alone atop the conference standings, has two more conference wins than both Utah Valley (17-7, 6-2) and Grand Canyon (17-8, 6-3). The Aggies host Grand Canyon on Saturday and travels to Utah Valley on Feb. 15.
Lofton leads New Mexico St. over UT Rio Grande Valley 90-67
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Zach Lofton matched career highs with four steals and seven 3-pointers, and finished with a season-best 34 points to lead New Mexico State in a 90-67 rout of UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday for its ninth straight win.
New Mexico State (20-3, 7-0 Western Athletic Conference) has won 14 of its last 15 games. UT Rio Grande Valley (12-12, 3-4) had its two-game win streak snapped.
New Mexico State’s defense continues to shine in 71-45 win
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Jemerrio Jones had 14 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks as New Mexico State thrashed NAIA member Northern New Mexico 71-45 on Tuesday night.
The New Mexico State defense continued to dominate, holding an opponent under 50 points for the second straight game. The Aggies limited UMKC to 48 points in a 73-48 victory on Saturday.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 19 points and New Mexico State rolled to a 73-48 victory over UMKC on Saturday night to remain undefeated atop the Western Athletic Conference.
New Mexico State (18-3, 6-0) has won seven straight games since its five-point loss to Southern California in the title game of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu on Dec. 25. UMKC (6-17, 1-5) has lost six of its last seven.
New Mexico State finally comes home, tops Seattle 75-62
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Zach Lofton and Eli Chuha combined to score 29 points and New Mexico State used a big first half to post a 75-62 win over Seattle to remain unbeaten in Western Athletic Conference competition Thursday night.
The home game was the Aggies first in more than a month and they extended their win streak against the Redhawks to seven.
New Mexico (16-3, 4-0) built a 37-22 lead by intermission and cruised.
Lofton helps New Mexico St pull away from Grand Canyon 70-59
PHOENIX (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 29 points and made all 10 free throws and New Mexico State pulled away in the second half to defeat Grand Canyon 70-59 Thursday night, ending the Antelopes' eight-game Western Athletic Conference win streak.
New Mexico State (14-3, 2-0) outscored Grand Canyon 19-9 over the final 10:50. The Aggies took a 51-50 lead on Eli Chuha's free throw and never relinquished it.
Jones, New Mexico St roll past Chicago St in WAC opener
CHICAGO (AP) — Jemerrio Jones totaled 18 points, 16 rebounds and five assists to propel New Mexico State to a 97-60 romp over Chicago State on Saturday in a Western Athletic Conference opener.
Jones connected on 9 of 16 shots from the floor in posting his third straight double-double and 10th of the season. Zach Lofton had 17 points, Gabe Hadley scored 14 and Sidy N'Dir chipped in with 10 points and six boards for the Aggies (13-3).
Lofton carries New Mexico State past UC Irvine, 65-60
IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Zach Lofton hit 6 of 8 from the free throw line in the final two minutes to preserve New Mexico State's 65-60 win over UC Irvine on Thursday night.
The victory caps a nine-game road trip that included a 63-54 win over then-No. 6 Miami that was the Hurricanes first loss of the season. It was the Aggies first win over a ranked opponent since 2007.
New Mexico State now heads into Western Athletic Conference play at Chicago State on January 6.
Jones’ rebound bucket lifts New Mexico St over Davidson
HONOLULU (AP) — Jemerrio Jones grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with eight seconds left in the game and New Mexico State used a late run to pull out a 69-68 victory over Davidson on Friday in the opening round of the Diamond Head Classic.
Reserves Eli Chuha and Keyon Jones scored 13 each to pace the Aggies (10-2), who used an 11-4 spurt over the final 2:33 to pull out the win. A.J. Harris scored 12 and Zach Lofton chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds for NMSU.
Lofton leads New Mexico State past Eastern New Mexico, 84-62
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Zach Lofton scored 29 points and New Mexico State won its second straight game over an in-state rival, handily beating Division II Eastern New Mexico, 84-62 on Tuesday night.
The Aggies had a five-game win streak snapped by San Diego, but now have posted wins over New Mexico as well as the Greyhounds.
New Mexico State (8-2) closed the first half on a 17-8 run highlighted by five points each from Lofton and Shunn Buchanan.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Braxton Huggins and Ian Baker scored 18 points apiece and New Mexico State beat Missouri-Kansas City 78-60 on Friday night in a Western Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal.
No. 2 seed New Mexico State (27-5) will play top-seeded Cal State Bakersfield (22-8) on Saturday in a rematch of last season's tournament championship. The Aggies won four-straight titles before losing to the Roadrunners on a buzzer beater.

EDINBURG, Texas (AP) — Ian Baker scored a career-high 36 points, Braxton Huggins pumped in 23 more and New Mexico State held on Saturday night for 107-101 win over Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
New Mexico State (23-4, 9-2 Western Athletic Conference) pulled away in the second half with a 7-0 spurt that included a 3-pointer and a layup from Baker and made it 92-83 with just over eight minutes to play. CSU Bakersfield snaps New Mexico St’s 20-game streak, 72-53
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Jaylin Airington and Matt Smith each scored 17 points and CSU Bakersfield handed New Mexico State its first loss in Western Athletic Conference play, 72-53 on Thursday night.

SEATTLE (AP) — Ian Baker had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Jemerrio Jones 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead New Mexico State over Seattle 71-56 for the Aggies' 17th consecutive victory Thursday night.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Ian Baker scored 20 points and Jemerrio Jones had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead New Mexico State to a commanding 94-71 win against UMKC on Saturday night for its 16th-straight win.
The Aggies haven't lost since Nov. 18 and are tied with Oregon for the third-longest active winning streak in the country. Gonzaga has the longest at 19 and Kansas has 18.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Ian Baker scored 13 points as New Mexico State notched its 15th straight win, rallying late to beat CS Bakersfield 63-58 on Saturday night.
Baker was just 2 of 6 from the floor but hit 8 of 9 from the free throw line for the Aggies (17-2, 4-0 WAC). Jemerrio Jones and Eli Chuha scored 12 points apiece. Jones led with 16 rebounds and Chuha had 14 rebounds.

UTEP (2-10) started with a 10-0 run before Johnathon Wilkins' layup almost five minutes into the game put the Aggies on the scoreboard. The Miners led 14-5 before New Mexico State (13-2) amassed a barrage of 3s in succession.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Braxton Huggins scored eight of his 24 points in overtime, Jemerrio Jones and Eli Chuha each had double-doubles and New Mexico state beat UC Irvine 85-79 in overtime on Monday night.
Jones had 23 points and a season-high 18 rebounds and Chuha scored 10 with 12 boards.
Jones sandwiched two buckets around back-to-back 3-pointers by Huggins to give New Mexico State (11-2) an 82-74 lead with 34 seconds to play.
Baker leads NM State to 7th straight win, 79-68 over UTEP
EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Ian Baker nailed 3 of 7 from beyond the arc for 20 points to help lead New Mexico State to its seventh straight win, beating UTEP 79-68 on Tuesday night.
Baker has scored 1,006 career points in 97 games at New Mexico State. He was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week Monday after tying his career-high with 26 points in an 84-71 victory over New Mexico Saturday.
For the first time since Ritchie McKay roamed the sidelines as head coach at The University of New Mexico, the Lobo men’s basketball team went into the Pan American Center in Las Cruces and lost a game.

Jones near perfect as New Mexico St. beats Air Force 78-70
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Jemerrio Jones scored 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting and Sidy N'Dir was 6-for-8 shooting and scored 15 points as New Mexico State beat Air Force 78-70 on Wednesday night.
Jones also had seven rebounds and seven assists.
Joe Garza's 3 with 1:51 gave the Aggies a 72-68 cushion and they held off Air Force down the stretch.
New Mexico State rallies to beat San Diego 56-51
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Ian Baker scored 15 points and made 7 of 8 free throws, Jemerrio Jones had 14 points and New Mexico State rallied to a 56-51 win over San Diego on Saturday to close out the San Diego Classic.
Down by three at halftime and trailing for much of the second half, the Aggies rallied to a 44-42 lead after Baker's two free throws with 4:11 to play. They pulled away on Jones' jumper and free throw and Baker hit four more from the line for a 53-49 lead.
Jones scores 24, New Mexico State downs Nicholls 86-74
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Jemerrio Jones scored 24 points on 11-of-15 shooting and Sidy N'Dir's go-ahead 3 helped New Mexico State rally to beat Nicholls 86-74 in Tuesday night's round of the San Diego Classic.
Trailing 44-43 at halftime, N'Dir's trey at 16:54 broke a 47-all tie and sparked a 12-0 run the Aggies used to pull away to lead by as many as 15 points in the second half. There were 14 lead changes and 13 ties before the Aggies made their run.
