RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Milan Acquaah scored 24 points, De'jon Davis had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Cal Baptist beat UC Riverside 80-70 on Thursday night to snap a four-game losing streak.
Acquaah and Davis made seven field goals and seven free throws apiece. The duo also made five of the Lancers' nine 3-pointers. Jordan Heading chipped in with 13 points for Cal Baptist (3-4).
Jordan Gilliam and Dikymbe Martin each scored 18 points to lead UC Riverside (2-6). Zac Watson added 10 points.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville senior running back Jeremy Smith plans to transfer after sustaining a season-ending foot injury in September.
Cardinals spokesman Rocco Gasparro said Monday night in a text message that coach Bobby Petrino granted Smith's request for a release to transfer. Louisville's top returning rusher entering this season played one game and was injured in practice two days before the team faced defending national champion Clemson.

After trimming an early three-goal deficit to one, the Buffalo Sabres made a late push to tie the game. But then Gabriel Landeskog took off on a breakaway and scored his second goal of the night into an empty net with 41 seconds remaining, sealing a 5-3 victory for Smith and the struggling Avalanche.
