Parkinson’s 4 TD catches lead Stanford past Beavers 48-17
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Tight end Colby Parkinson and quarterback K.J. Costello have been working on their timing for over a year. It came to fruition Saturday.
Parkinson caught all four of K.J. Costello's touchdown passes and Stanford beat Oregon State 48-17 Saturday to become bowl eligible.
"We were getting the match-ups we wanted," Parkinson said. "That's what K.J. and I have been working on. K.J. puts the ball where it needs to be. It's what we do in practice every day."
Pac-12 Freshman of the Year? Look to the Pacific Northwest
The Pacific Northwest appears to be leading the way in the Pac-12 for freshmen running backs who are having an impact.
A trio of talented backs, Oregon State's Jermar Jefferson, Oregon's CJ Verdell and Washington State's Max Borghi, are all taking on notable roles on their offenses as either true or redshirt freshmen.
Meanwhile, Arizona State seems to have cornered the market on freshman defenders. And there's USC's still-could-be-in-high-school quarterback JT Daniels.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Eno Benjamin rushed for a school record 312 yards on 30 carries and scored four touchdowns as Arizona State beat Oregon State 52-24 on Saturday night, giving coach Herm Edwards his first Pac-12 victory.
Benjamin, a sophomore from Wylie, Texas, scored on runs of 44, 47 and 10 yards and caught an 8-yard touchdown pass.
Oregon State looks for second win of season against Nevada
Oregon State will try to turn its victory last weekend into a streak of sorts when the team visits Nevada on Saturday.
The Beavers' confidence has no doubt been boosted by a 48-25 victory last week against Southern Utah that snapped an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Beavers’ Jermar Jefferson makes a splash among Pac-12 RBs
There's already a somewhat surprising development early in the Pac-12 season. The top two backs aren't named Love and Gaskin, but instead Jefferson and Pierce. And they're from Oregon State.
Yes, they're Beavers.
The Pac-12's 2018 class of running backs is unquestionably led by Stanford's Bryce Love, a Heisman finalist last year who returned for his senior year. Washington's Myles Gaskin came back for another season, too. Utah's Zack Moss is also considered a rusher to watch this fall.

The freshman rushed for 238 yards and four touchdowns — including a weaving 62-yard score — as Oregon State beat Southern Utah 48-25 on Saturday night.
In his second game, Jefferson notched the third-highest single-game rushing total for Oregon State.
