ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — The father of a seventh grader in Michigan said Wednesday his son has a scholarship offer from Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines.
Brian Marshall said Harbaugh made the offer after watching film of his son Isaiah, who plays quarterback. Offers like this are nonbinding, so it's hard to tell how seriously they should be taken.
"He's still a kid, and we keep him pretty grounded," Brian Marshall said. "This motivated him a little bit more."
Michigan hires Campanile as defensive assistant
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Anthony Campanile is joining Michigan's football program as a defensive assistant.
The school announced the hiring Friday night.
Campanile spent the past three seasons as an assistant at Boston College and the previous four on the staff at Rutgers. He was a co-defensive coordinator at Boston College in 2018.

Patterson accounted for 214 yards of offense and a touchdown, leading No. 12 Michigan to a 38-13 victory over No. 15 Wisconsin on Saturday night.
The Wolverines called some plays designed for Patterson and that created problems for the Badgers. And sometimes, Patterson simply ran on his own after scrambling around.
