Cornell beats Penn for first time in last 12 meetings
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Matt Morgan scored 25 points and led a game-ending run that gave Cornell an 80-71 win over Penn on Friday, beating the Quakers for the first time in their last 12 meetings.
Morgan scored in double figures for the 70th consecutive time in his career, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the 22nd longest streak in NCAA history. He also tied Yale's Butch Graves (1980-84) at No. 3 on the Ivy League's all-time scoring list at 2,090 points.

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Matt Morgan hit a school-record nine 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 38 points to help Cornell beat Towson 86-74 on Wednesday night for the Tigers' fourth straight loss.
Morgan became the sixth player in Ivy League history to score at least 2,000 career points. The senior guard also set a school record for career free throws with 438, breaking Louis Jordan's 60-year-old mark of 435, and is just five points shy of Ryan Whitman's school-record 2,028 points.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Seth Towns and Chris Lewis each had a double-double to help Harvard beat Cornell 74-55 on Saturday in the Ivy League Tournament.
Towns scored 24 points and grabbed a career-high tying 12 rebounds and Lewis finished with 16 points and 10 boards. Christian Juzang added 12 points, hitting 4 of 6 from 3-point range for Harvard (18-12).
The top-seeded Crimson, who have won nine of their last 10, will play No. 2 seed Penn or third-seeded Yale in the championship game on Sunday.
Syracuse’s defense smothers Cornell in 77-45 win
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — It was a great night for the Boeheim clan.
Coach Jim Boeheim's Syracuse Orange overwhelmed Cornell 77-45 Friday night in the season opener for both teams and son Jimmy Boeheim scored 11 points in his collegiate debut for the opposing Big Red.
"The first few minutes I was a little nervous going up and down but after the first few possessions I felt like it was like any other game," the young Boeheim said.

And yet, as he begins season No. 42 at his alma mater, Boeheim is about to experience something new. The toddler he once brought to shoot at a toy basket during a preseason media day will be on the opposing team when the Orange open their season against Cornell on Friday night.
