Bears rule out Jackson, Lynch for game against 49ers

The Bears said Saturday neither player traveled with the team.
The Latest: Steelers beat Pats for first time since ’11
The Latest on NFL's Week 15 (all times Eastern):
The Pittsburgh Steelers have beaten the New England Patriots for the first time since 2011.
The Steelers' 17-10 win at Heinz Field kept the Steelers (8-5-1) ahead of the Ravens (8-6) in the NFC North. A loss would have put them on the outside of the playoff picture with two weeks remaining.
The Patriots were denied their 10th consecutive AFC East title.
Packers TE Jimmy Graham quiet in mediocre season
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Whether it was earlier in his career at New Orleans or the past few seasons in Seattle, two things were common for tight end Jimmy Graham: production and victories.
Both are in short supply in his first season with the Green Bay Packers. Graham enters Sunday's game at Chicago with only two touchdown catches and the Packers with a 5-7-1 record.
Cobb out again for Packers with hamstring injury
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb will miss his sixth game this season because of a hamstring injury.
Cobb was sidelined Sunday at Minnesota for the third straight week, along with cornerback Kevin King (hamstring). Defensive end Mike Daniels (foot) and cornerback Bashaud Breeland (groin) were also out. Safety Kentrell Brice (ankle) returned from a one-game absence. Tight end Jimmy Graham (thumb) was in the lineup after being listed as questionable.

Saints, Brees piling up points at franchise-record rate
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The dynamic Saints running back duo of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara agree that the word "savage" best describes New Orleans' offense.
Certainly, the Saints are scoring so often, and in so many ways, it's enough to bruise defenders' egos.
"I'm glad we don't have to play them," Saints linebacker Alex Anzalone said Monday, a day after New Orleans broke the 50-point mark in a victory over Cincinnati.
Flying and football fuel Packers tight end Jimmy Graham
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Two passions fuel Jimmy Graham, each related in one way or another with moving quickly through the air.
Football in the fall, flying in the offseason.
A 1950s-era amphibious plane that he restored to pristine condition also represents how far he has come back from a serious knee injury. Both rebuilds occurred a few years ago while he was playing for the Seattle Seahawks.
Packers offense looks to rebound after sluggish game
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Whatever issues his quarterback has with his offensive game plans, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy made sure he didn't escalate the tension by airing his own frustrations on Monday.
On Sunday, Rodgers reacted to the team's 22-0 victory over the Buffalo Bills by saying that the offense was "terrible" and calling the 423-yard effort "as bad as we've played on offense with that many yards in a long time."
Packers TE Jimmy Graham having immediate impact on offense
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — In his first two games with the Green Bay Packers, Jimmy Graham's impact on the offense has been obvious — in two very different ways.
He caught just two passes for 8 yards in the season opener against Chicago, but the attention Graham drew allowed wide receivers Randall Cobb, Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison to have big days.
Pats’ Gronk gets $4.3M raise, highest paid tight end in NFL
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots has all the incentives to become the NFL's highest paid tight end.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Thursday the Patriots have added $4.3 million in incentives to Gronkowski's contract for the next two seasons. The deal includes $1 million in per game bonuses and $3.3 million in incentives for catches, playing time and touchdowns.
Rodgers to Graham: Packers could have new red zone combo
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have a new threat in the red zone.
Six-foot-7 tight end Jimmy Graham sure does provide an intriguing target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers throws TD pass, Packers top Steelers 51-34
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The ovation moved Aaron Rodgers to tears.
The Green Bay Packers fans showed their appreciation with the two-time NFL MVP about to take his first snaps at Lambeau Field in almost a year. Once he got behind center, Rodgers needed just one drive to look right at home back in Titletown.
Graham building chemistry in Green Bay with Rodgers
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Jimmy Graham isn't worried about developing chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers new tight end knows how good his new quarterback is, and through the first three days of training camp, they've already made plenty of progress.
But when will Graham know that he and Rodgers have truly gotten on the same page?
"I'll be with the ball in the end zone," Graham said after Saturday's first in-pads practice of camp. "That's really when you know."

Packers Training Camp Capsule
GREEN BAY PACKERS (7-9)
OPEN CAMP: July 26, Green Bay, Wisconsin
LAST YEAR: Finished under .500 and out of playoffs for first time since 2008. Offense struggled with QB Aaron Rodgers sidelined for seven games with broken collarbone. Defense plagued by porous secondary and lack of consistent pass rush. Injuries ravaged cornerback position again.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Marcedes Lewis wasn't sure if the Green Bay Packers were the right fit for him. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and tight end Jimmy Graham made him feel at home at Lambeau Field.
Lewis visited Green Bay last week thinking he wanted to explore his options during his first stint as a free agent following 12 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He received calls from other teams, but he said that the Packers were the most persistent so he made Lambeau his first stop.
Packers sign veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have signed tight end Marcedes Lewis, adding another veteran to back up Jimmy Graham.
The 6-foot-6 Lewis, who turned 34 last week, played 12 seasons in Jacksonville. He ranks third in Jaguars history with 375 catches and second with 33 touchdown receptions.
Lewis also helped the Jaguars run for an NFL-best 141.4 yards per game last year.
A collective groan howled across the fantasy football world upon news of Chargers tight end Hunter Henry's torn knee ligament on the first day of organized team activities.
Henry had become the cool kid in the tight end class as the departure of Antonio Gates opened the door for Henry to emerge as a top 5 TE with the upside to rival New England's Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce of the Chiefs and Philadelphia's Zach Ertz.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers' eventful offseason included a trip to India to see the spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, and a pit stop to watch his girlfriend, race car driver Danica Patrick, at Daytona.
He also purchased a minority stake in the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks.
This week, it's back to the practice field for the two-time NFL MVP.
METAIRIE, La. (AP) — A person familiar with the decision says the New Orleans Saints have released veteran tight end Coby Fleener.
The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because the roster move has not been announced.
Fleener has played two seasons for New Orleans, with whom he signed a five-year, $36 million free-agent contract in 2016 — two seasons after the Saints had traded away star tight end Jimmy Graham.
As Morgan Burnett departs, Packers’ secondary becomes primary concern
GREEN BAY — The depletion of the Green Bay Packers’ defensive backfield continues. At least this time, the team has an obvious replacement.
Veteran safety Morgan Burnett signed a three-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday, after the Packers made little effort to bring back the eight-year veteran.
AROUND THE NFC NORTH
Checking in with the Vikings division opponents after the first wave of free agency:
What they accomplished: Upgraded an abysmal receiving corps by adding Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and pass-catching tight end Trey Burton.
Still left to do: Find more pass rushers and depth along the offensive line.
What they accomplished: In Devon Kennard, they acquired a versatile edge-rushing linebacker who will help new coach Matt Patricia when he chooses to mix in 3-4 looks.
Seahawks lock up TE Ed Dickson with a 3-year deal
RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks addressed one of their offseason needs by signing tight end Ed Dickson to a three-year contract.
While Dickson isn't intended to be a replacement for Jimmy Graham, he is the kind of tight end Seattle needs if it's going to return to an offense that controls the game with the run. Dickson is an excellent blocker who also was a serviceable pass-catching option during his time in Baltimore and Carolina.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have signed Chicago Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller to an offer sheet, a person familiar with the situation said Friday.
Fuller is the Bears' transition player, and the tag gives Chicago five days to match the offer.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither team has announced the signing. The Chicago Tribune first reported the move.
Just minutes after reports of the Green Bay Packers adding tight end Jimmy Graham surfaced, more shocking news popped up in Green Bay, as the Packers will reportedly release longtime wide receiver Jordy Nelson, according to ESPN. The Graham signing was one of the bigger pieces of news during yesterday's free-agency action, with Drew Brees having re-signed in New Orleans.
Packers add Jimmy Graham, Muhammad Wilkerson as big-ticket free agents
GREEN BAY — At one point during his Tuesday evening news conference, Brian Gutekunst issued a subtle reminder that, technically, NFL free agency hadn’t even started yet.
“Nothing starts until tomorrow,” the Green Bay Packers first-year general manager said, referring to the league year officially kicking off at 3 p.m.
Gutekunst and the Packers are already off to quite the start, having agreed to terms with free agent tight end Jimmy Graham and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson.
In the wake of big deals, Packers’ biggest need is at cornerback
GREEN BAY — Amid the buzz he created with two significant free agent additions as the NFL market was opening — tight end Jimmy Graham and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, whose deals were set to become official on Wednesday — Brian Gutekunst remained acutely aware of the gaping hole that remained in the Green Bay Packers’ roster:
Report: Free-agent TE Jimmy Graham marching toward New Orleans Saints reunion
The New Orleans Saints haven't yet locked up free-agent QB Drew Brees, but they're working behind the scenes to bring back Brees' most dangerous pass catcher from 2011-14 for a second go-around.
Momentum for a reunion between the Saints and TE Jimmy Graham is building, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo tweeted Monday morning, roughly a half-hour after teams and agents could officially start negotiating.

Vikings Joseph, Rudolph, Harrison Smith going to Pro Bowl
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph, tight end Kyle Rudolph and safety Harrison Smith are going to the 2018 NFL Pro Bowl.
The Vikings said Monday that Joseph will replace Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox. Rudolph will replace Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham, who is unable to participate due to an injury. Smith replaces New York Giants safety Landon Collins, who also is injured.
Two months of endless, mind-altering Christmas carols might have played a role in this sudden urge to examine a Rudolph in the Red Zone.
The Latest: Wilson leads Seahawks past Eagles 24-10
The Latest on the 13th Sunday of the NFL regular season (all times Eastern):
Russell Wilson threw three touchdown passes, the last a 15-yard strike to J.D. McKissic with 7:29 left, and the Seattle Seahawks stayed in the NFC playoff hunt with a 24-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Starting LB Joe Walker out for Eagles; Seahawks down 2 DLs
SEATTLE (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles were without starting middle linebacker Joe Walker for Sunday night's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Walker was among Philadelphia's inactives with a neck injury. He was listed as questionable on the final injury report after not practicing all week. He was the only starter out for the Eagles.
Russell Wilson’s big second half carries Seahawks past 49ers
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Russell Wilson's pass on the initial play of the game from scrimmage sailed into the hands of 49ers safety Eric Reid.
Seattle was scoreless until Wilson scampered two yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter. Then he really found his rhythm after halftime Sunday as the Seahawks beat the San Francisco 49ers 24-13 to bounce back from a three-point loss to Atlanta last Monday.
Wilson throws for 2 TDs, runs for another as Seahawks win
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Russell Wilson realized as they tirelessly worked out together in the offseason just what a special connection he has with Jimmy Graham.
Seattle's quarterback saw it again during training camp, and now their mutual trust is leading to spectacular and timely successes on the field during a push for the playoffs.
They are clicking in a way Pete Carroll can only admire: eight touchdowns over seven games.
Glendale, Ariz. — Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes to Jimmy Graham and the Seattle Seahawks added to their history of success in Arizona with a 22-16 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday night.
The Seahawks (6-3) limited Adrian Peterson to 29 yards in 21 carries in a game marred by a host of injuries, including a season-ending one to Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman.
Wilson throws 2 TD passes, Seahawks win again in Arizona
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Russell Wilson has been confounding the Arizona Cardinals with his escape antics for a long time.
He did it again Thursday night in the biggest play of the Seattle Seahawks' 22-16 victory.
In what his coach Pete Carroll called "an extraordinary play," Wilson eluded the Cardinals with an array of jukes and spin moves before completing a 54-yard pass to Doug Baldwin, setting up his second touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham.
Would Jimmy Graham still be a Seahawk today if he hadn't been one of Seattle's biggest heroes in the fourth quarter of perhaps the NFL's best game, which happened to be just 48 hours before the trade deadline?
Wilson’s heroics lead Seahawks to wild 41-38 win over Texans
SEATTLE (AP) — No matter how much Deshaun Watson impersonated Russell Wilson on Sunday, the original ended up coming out on top.
Wilson hit Jimmy Graham for an 18-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left, his second TD catch of the fourth quarter, and the Seattle Seahawks rallied for a wild 41-38 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Fiery Seahawks dominate Giants behind Wilson and defense
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks had it all on display against the New York Giants, and not even a minor first-half blowup between receiver Doug Baldwin and assistant coach Tom Cable could get in their way.
Russell Wilson threw three second-half touchdown passes, the Seahawks limited the Giants' receiver-depleted offense to season-low 177 yards and Seahawks overcame a first half in which they were their own worst enemy in posting a 24-7 win on Sunday.
Seahawks preserve NFC West supremacy in 16-10 win over Rams
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks watched enough film to know Jared Goff and Todd Gurley have made remarkable strides under new Rams coach Sean McVay.
Earl Thomas, Sheldon Richardson and the veteran Seahawks defense wouldn't let the upstart Rams step atop the NFC West just yet.
Thomas forced two of the Rams' five turnovers, and Richardson picked up two more during the Seahawks' 16-10 victory over Los Angeles on Sunday.
Seahawks shut down high-scoring Rams for 16-10 victory
LOS ANGELES (AP) — When Todd Gurley stretched the ball toward the goal line, Earl Thomas soared in with perfect timing and a martial arts-style chop to the running back's arm, knocking the ball out for a touchback.
After an impressive start to the season, the Rams thought they were ready to run past the NFC West's perennial power.
Thomas and the Seattle Seahawks barely swatted away the upstarts in a defensive performance full of timely brilliance.
Seahawks’ Jimmy Graham expected to play despite ankle injury
RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham is expected to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans despite being listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.
Graham was a full participant in practice Friday and head coach Pete Carroll said he's ready to play.
"He did really well today," Carroll said. "Made it through the whole practice and did everything. So he'll be all right."
FANTASY PLAYS: Taking stock of hurt tight ends, others in W3
Week 2 was tough on tight ends in fantasy football as five big names suffered injuries — none bigger than Greg Olsen of the Panthers breaking his right foot.
Olsen is expected to miss about six to eight weeks after having surgery on Monday. Rob Gronkowski (groin), Jordan Reed (chest), Jimmy Graham (ankle) and Tyler Eifert (back/knee) are all questionable to play this week.
Seahawks puzzled by offensive struggles after beating 49ers
SEATTLE (AP) — For the second straight season, the Seattle Seahawks are spending the first two weeks of the regular season wondering how an offense with the likes of Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham has only found the end zone once in two games.
New San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan would simply like to see his team score a touchdown after getting held out of the end zone again in a 12-9 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.
