MADRID (AP) — Sevilla has fired Italian coach Vincenzo Montella for poor results.
The club made the move on Saturday, a day after the team lost at Levante 2-1.
It was Sevilla's ninth straight match without a victory in all competitions.
Montella leaves the club in seventh place in the Spanish league, the last spot guaranteeing a Europa League berth next season.
Ibanez scores twice as Leganes beats Osasuna 2-0 in Spain
MADRID (AP) — Midfielder Rober Ibanez scored a goal in each half as promoted Leganes defeated Osasuna 2-0 to win its first home match in the Spanish league's top flight.
Ibanez scored with shots from inside the area in the sixth and 57th minutes to secure the team's first win at its Butarque stadium after debuting in the first division this season.
It had opened its home campaign with a draw and then lost four in a row at Butarque.
